  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Been sick for days. Digestive system doing it's own thing. Is today a good day to throw up or the other side? Yeah sure...

Month 4 no employment.

I'm waiting for a job to get me scheduled. It's $6 less than I made. So a big cut in pay.

The ever so happy to fire people administrator has been fired.

I have several people begging me to return so I talked to other admin and she will talk to HR but I am not holding my breath. I have been leaving it to the Lord.

Adding the woman who registered a formal complaint of hearsay and twisting the story [a former nun now atheist - gay marriage], has called on a pastor at her partners desire who was begging for the Lord to help her.... who has now passed on.

The lady who complained would never have asked to write it up [because she just loves complaining], I know the admin [who fired at least 10-12 people] requested it and then fired me.

The staff shortage is so severe now they cannot keep anyone. When I was fired so many people left and I mean super sweet lpn's were also let go. Fired!!
Diligent and well liked lpns.

They have only one NA on at night now. She hired and fired people within a week.
I also heard she went into the one lpns emails and started calling people [the bad word for female dogs]

I do not know if I will get my job back, and knowing full well I will be absolutely over worked now if I do get the job makes me wanna run... so Monday I will see, but I don't know if I will get it back.

I mean it should be patently clear that the admin was not suitable. The leaving admin told the higher ups she was not right for the job, but they kept her. She has run it down and so many good workers are gone. I miss the people she fired... most were my buddies. It stands to reason that there were two groups [in every health care setting tbh] And the moaners won because of constant complaints.
And this admin did not take that into account. [For the other building I picked up shifts for which was the original building I worked in]

Got so bad that a CNA who didn't want the extra work of skilled nursing building took it instead.

Thank you for letting me air my stress because I don't know at this point if my digestive system is in stress mode or I am genuinely ill.
I lost my benefits and now medicaid wants me to prove I am not employed for benefits.
Meantime, I applied for unemployment and got a letter saying
1. You do not have an account
2. You didn't give a ssn
3. You do not have a password.

I mean... government gaslighting....really?
[Took weeks of phone tag and I just couldn't get a live person.]

Seriously.. you cannot go to the next page without the ssn. It wont let you.

I cannot make an account without a password and IF I DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT...
why am I getting this letter?

I had 2 aunts pass away, a cousin, and a second cousin who was 27. Another aunt with kidney failure [my Godmother]

Okay good catching up. Hope everyone is well.

Prayers as ever are greatly appreciated.
I hate grumbling... so incognito works in here. :crossrc:

Prayers for everyone in here. God bless.

You may have that parasite virus Cyclospora i going around. FYI, call your doctor.
It was reported this morning that anti-biotics can kill the parasite.

I hope you can find employment in a place which is far better than the one you left behind.

I also heard she went into the one lpns emails and started calling people the bad word for female dogs.

You must have pretty weak labour hire laws. If someone did that here in Australia, they'd have the union on their back like a ton of bricks, no matter who they think they are.

During his 1974 tour of Australia, Frank Sinatra was black-banned by 114 Australian trade unions after he launched an onstage tirade against journalists, calling female reporters "hookers" and "broads". Unionists refused to refuel his plane, service his hotel, or stage his shows until he apologized.

Believe it or not - welfare wants me to prove I am not working for medicaid... benefits to go get checked.

How do I prove the unprovable?

If it is not one thing, it's the next.

FYI, the Cyclospora virus outbreak has been linked to Taylor Produce, which sells
shredded lettuce to Taco Bell. So, you do the math, if you ate a Taco Bell or bought
prepackaged salad it could be the source of your illness. Check with your doctor.

I feel your pain, WA. Earlier this year, I got a letter from the IRS. They wanted me to pay my income taxes for 2024, citing that I never filed a return.

I wrote them a letter back, saying that both Veteran's Affairs and Social Security have classified me as 100% disabled due to service-related conditions, and that since I have not earned a paycheck since October of 2011, I fail to see how I could possibly owe income tax for the year 2024. I included disability award letters and all relevant documentation. I was very polite and very thorough, and suggested that if they had further questions, they should contact the relevant offices at the Department of Veteran's Affairs and the Social Security Administration. Matter settled, right?

Wrong. About two months later, I got another letter from the IRS (coming from a different letterhead address in a completely different state this time), again dunning me for not paying income taxes for 2024. I wrote them another letter (not as polite as the last one), again including all relevant documents (including the first letter they sent to me) and explaining the whole rigmarole again. Sent it off, case closed.

Oh, but no, no, no! I got a third letter from the IRS (again coming from a totally different address from the first two) and now they were starting to get snotty, threatening me with fines and imprisonment if I didn't file a tax return for 2024. So, I wrote them a third letter back, and this time I was just as snotty as they were. I told them I had already written two letters, explaining the whole situation, and I told them that since they had either lost them, never bothered to read them, read them and threw them away, or just plain flat ignored them, this time I was sending the whole business back to them via registered mail, so they would have to sign for the package and thus couldn't claim that they never received any response from me. Furthermore, I told them that this was it: there is absolutely no possible way that I could be held liable for income taxes when I did not have any income to begin with, and if they were too thick to understand that, then come and get me, coppers---you'll never take me alive, see? I was done writing letters and spending postage to explain this to these dummies when all they did was come right back and tell me the same stupid story over and over again. You wanna arrest me? Bring it on, and we'll settle the whole thing in court.

They never sent back the postal confirmation card to acknowledge that they received the packet, but I have all the documentation from all three episodes, including the $20.00 receipt that I have from the post office when I sent it out via registered mail. So far, I haven't heard anything back from them, so maybe, just maybe, somebody actually read it this time, and said, "Duuuuhhh.....oh, geez---he ain't earned no money! Jeepers, I guess we wuz wrong!" It's been a while, but with the IRS, which is huge, bloated, inefficient, and immune from accountability, one never knows.

I will pray for your situation, WA. I hope things are going better for you. :crossrc:

This reminds me of an incident I had with Centrelink, although not for myself. I was doing an admin job and I needed to follow up on an employee's Centrelink status for some reason. "Centrelink" is the Australian social welfare agency.

It would have helped if the Centrelink contact had some local knowledge but I can'r remember just what the issue was. It was some years ago.

After a few minutes talking to the first Centrelink staff member, I got the impression they had no knowledge of where I was. So I said "Where are you located?"

They replied "Melbourne" which is about 1750 kms south of my area. So I asked if they could transfer me to someone with local knowledge.

The second staff member answered, and it soon became obvious they didn't know the local area either. Again I asked where they were based.

They said "Townsville", which is about 1400 kms north of our area!

Eventually I got it sorted, but it was irritating.

How have you been feeling? Any better? Continued prayers!

Peace!
I'm still not my best but I did start working.

I am working homecare with a disabled angel.
Anyone who is disabled and remains like a 3 year old is not a sinner. It's nice to be with them.

Total help. BUT I do have issues repositioning her because my back and she's not tiny. I just hope to figure that out.
The family seems nice.

It does get a little slow because she watches tv. Mostly Barney, and such. She's 28 but 3 mentally.
God bless her sweet soul.

God bless you!

I didn’t know Barney was still on air!

I have a cousin my age (30), who has the mind of an 8 year old. Growing up, Barney was her favorite show.

The last time I saw her in person was over 10 years ago, at our grandmother’s funeral mass.

God bless you for the wonderful work you do!

Take care!
