  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Ultimately, skin color isn't important, or shouldn't be.

except it DOES matter
the color of one's skin is the first thing one notices

my child was born in another country & people do react to her skin color ALL THE TIME

some people assume they know where she was born but assume wrong
people have talked Spanish to her yet she was NOT born in a Spanish speaking country!

It's not a matter of noticing a person's skin color, their hair, or the style
they choose to wear it in.

What matters is whether you see and treat the person poorly because of those traits.

I don't have to like your hairstyle or the culture you bring in order
to give you respect. Respect must be given first and above all the other things.

When people say a person must earn respect first, this is wrong. Give respect and
if they show that they don't deserve it, forgive them and do it 70 times 7 if necessary.

Not that I care particularly about racial percentages but it confuses me how Latino's with mostly European ancestry, that speak a European language, worship in a church based in Europe and having a cultural heritage from Europe are separated from other people who are largely from a similar background. that is if you move from Spain to US, you are white. If you move from Spain, live in Argentina for some years, then move to US you are Latino.

They designate themselves...which they should. The Spaniard who lived in Argentina for a while would still be considered a Spaniard unless he claimed to be Argentinian...which would make him "Latin American"--a Latino. That's their designation. They themselves traditionally want to be distinguished from Spaniards, who they generally regard as colonial oppressors.

Racism is a sin. It isn't racist to observe demographic changes and question why they're happening. This is being called racism and is a major problem with discussing this on any level.
I read 85% of African Americans voted for African Americans when they were on the ballot. Is this racism?

Not particularly true. That's a "sometimes."

For instance, Barack Obama was the sixth (at least) serious black candidate for president, but was the first to gain the majority of black votes. And blacks didn't lean toward Obama until the Iowa Caucus of the primary where he won the majority of white votes...until then, most blacks felt an obligation to support Clinton.

The GOP apparently believes what you think, however, and will cynically prop up a black candidate in the erroneous belief that his color alone will attract black voters. That doesn't work.

Racism is not a one way street as certain individuals would like us to believe.

Is the overall trend due to racism? I would say no. Do I think that some of those people voted the way that they did because of racism? Absolutely, and it was a sin.

The overall trend of African-Americans is to vote Democrat, not black.

I read that 85% of MAGA hat wearers voted for White candidates. Does that make them racist?
