  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm guessing the point of this thread is to argue that it's okay to have unjustified police shootings.

110 of the 140 posts so far in this thread is in response to you introducing BLM into it and/or replying to the off topic post from your gallery of fans.

I have to go back to work , but i will continue, just don't be surprised if I no longer respond to all this noise.

Here is where you insult me again......

That rises to the equivalent of my saying you think it's ok to murder cops.

And we're back to deflecting. You asked a question that you can easily do the research for, so this thread really is pointless.

lets some comparison.

1. How many unjustified police shootings were there and how does it break down by race?

68. Primarily black.

2. How many unjustified shooting were there based on same race. How does it break down by race?

34. 12 white. 6 Asian. 45 black.

I'll repeat my question: why do you believe Philando Castile had to die?

What did I write that suggests it's okay to murder cops?

What you wrote is that a small percentage of people are unjustifiably killed by the police, and then complain, "I do in fact understand why people are upset about it - and to an extent agree with them - I however do not understand why no one - nadda - zip doodily are upset over events causing more deaths of the African American population in a week than all the police forces in all the US cities combined over a year." You are arguing that the number is low, no one should pay attention to it, they should be paying attention to murders caused by civilians. However, that is untrue. Moreover, demanding that people ignore government accountability in place of another topic is simply saying unjustified police shootings are okay. However, the shootings are not the only problem, but you've been ignoring that point.

I find items like this interesting - Miami FL

Justice Department reviewed 33 police shootings as part of a civil rights investigation of city police practices from 2008 to 2011 and found three were unjustified

A whopping three in three years.
They reviewed the investigation of the maimi pd. They looked at the reports compiled by miami pd homocide investigators.

Oh yeah. This will get us unbiased, reliable accounts. Considering video tape evidence of impropriety still manages to get paid leave, forgive me cor suggesting that perhaps police should not be inveatigating themselves.
