You need to install the software that came with the camera on to your computer. There also should be a cable that connects your camera to your PC.

After installing the software and taking the pictures, hook up your camera via the cable to your pc and follow the directions. It should enable you to download and view your pictures.

I have had quite a few digital cameras and each one works a bit differently. READ the direction book several times. Once you do it a few times, it will be so easy you will wonder why you ever had a problem.

best thing you can ever buy if you take lots of pictures is a card reader which can be picked up for next to nothing (<$10). very useful if you ever change cameras.

however if the thread is just about the transfer of files from camera to computer all you need is the cable that came with the computer, but I think you said it was kodak with the base thing in which case its a pain in the butt.

if you want FREE graphics software for windows XP, do a google search for 'paint.net' It is great I regularly use photoshop but find this super for the laptop.
