  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi everyone I have a few things that I have been thinking about.

The United States was bulit on Godly principles, now it is fading away from God. Christians are the majority yet seems to be the minority. I wander why or what has happened to the heart and soul of our nation (Christians).

My church is what opened my eyes to our eternal purpose, to be a christian is to be bold about your faith no matter what. Sinners are not ashamed of what they do yet some christians are. (Mark 8:38)

I am not saying we are to condem anyone what I am saying is we should BOLDLY proclaiming the word of God. So that we impact our nation and take it before we see our freedom fade away.

Here's some Christian advice for you while we're in that section. Christians ARE NOT the majority in the US. We are the minority. Christian- Christ follower. Now tell me something- if someone says they believe in God, does that make them a Christian? If someone goes to church, does that make them a Christian? No, and I'd be very surprised if anyone tried to say otherwise. The advice is this: don't let the world try to deceive you. Christians are an increasing rarity in the US. Matthew 28:19-20 needs to be followed now more than ever. DISCIPLES. Not puppets. People who know what it means to be a Christian.

Kevin announces: "we should [be] BOLDLY proclaiming the word of God. So that we impact our nation and take it before we see our freedom fade away."

Well, the longest journey begins with the First Step.
So, why don't you boldly proclaim it?

Beyond that, each person should decide for himself if he wants to stand on a soapbox and cheer for Jesus.

Most people are NOT the type to want to do that.
I gave up my soapbox days a long time ago.

Jesus proclaims that we should Love others.
So, the LOUDEST you can proclaim is to make others feel Loved.
Then, they will KNOW that you are a Christian.
"They will know we are Christians by our Love, by our Love. They will know we are Christians by our Love."

It's a good song. So, shout it from the Mountain-tops.

Ah for the past 50 years I've seen the Christian Heritage of Australia and America go down the gurgler.

Now, why is that so?

Easy, because Christians prefer to sit in a parked car in the gutter with it's motor running waiting for our Lord to return.

Now if you say that is Active Lordship, then that is why it is such in American, and is becoming much the same in Australia.

Mate, you start the push and stand up and be counted, and I can assure you that THEY will come against like a ton of bricks.

The Church has been infiltrated, and you speak out and you will be tarred and feathered and drum-rolled out of the church.

Keep fighting a good fight of faith, they say.

Submit to our Lord and they will flee, they say.

Bless those who curse you, they say.

Turn the other cheek, they say.

Well none of that has been working, but I geuss that it's time that God's Guerillas stood up and be counted.

Well I thank everyone for there input, it all starts with a action that is true. I think that this is what I need to hear, if Jesus would have given up I wouldn't have salvation and in him I can do all things.

Thank you for the encouragement.
Always remember that Salvation is a Gift from God, our Lord Jesus Christ, and no one can take that from you.

It's now time to stand up and be counted, and join the ranks of His guerillas.

Um there is a difference between being on a "soapbox for Christ" and merely sharing the love of Christ to people. You share the love of Christ to people and they have two options, they either reject it or they accept it. You can't control what another person believes, and you can't
control how another person acts. You try to shove the message
of Christianity down a non-Christian's throat and they'll respond with animosity. They'll assume that when you try to force the message of Christianity upon them, that because their view is different, it's wrong. This can end up coming off as very judgmental and has the possibility of making the person feel inferior.

I just want to add in that there is a lot of compromise, and a lack of leadership that hasn't joined in the compromise. Christians today are shadows of the Christians of old that we read about - Christians that followed God without compromise. Life in this world is hard, and compromise can be a very tempting thing. We need leaders who will lead us by example, showing us what it is to really follow God and not water down the faith they teach or practice for the sake of political correctness, compassion, money, or anything else.

Given the Biblical definition of what it means to be a CHRISTIAN, Christians have never been a majority in this country.

What has happened to the "heart and soul of our nation" is that the American Civil Liberties Association and the Supreme Court have acted upon the will of the majority--atheists, agnostics, and "so-call christians" and pushed the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob off the throne and out of the public forum of the country who creation He guided and whose prosperity He provided. Once again, there is no room at the Inn--Saviors and stuff like that are bad for business.

You are right, however, regarding the action to be taken--but the purpose is to rescue individuals from the sinking ship, not to "save the nation." American, like Rome, is just another empire sliding down to judgment and destruction.

The God of Abraham is now, always was, and always will be on the throne. We all know the future, HE WINS.
I agree with solidlyhere, LOVE OTHERS.
How do we do this? Be Christ to them. Feed them, listen to them, love them, have mercy for them, respect them, tell them the truth, tell them about Jesus. Do this without fear of persecution. Be willing to make the sacrifices needed to bring the truth of the gospel to the lost. This is the great commission and we are all commanded to live it out.
All who are in Christ need not be afraid for the Holy Spirit is with us. We are absolutelly bulletproof until our soveriegn Lord calls us home.
