But would not God have to suspend the laws of physics to preserve the Earth? So many impacts occuring in such a short time would impart a great deal of energy. The oceans would boil and the Earth would now look like Venus if God didnt protect it.

However, the oceans did not BOIL AWAY, although in places they may have boiled temporarily, and even though the impacts did occur at the time of the FLOOD, the earth does not look like Venus. Behold, you are wrong and God's word is true and righteous altogether.

I am convinced that God is more than capable of suspending the laws of physics. Those laws say that the oceans would boil from all those impacts so recently. However, as you say, we have oceans and Earth is not Venus. Therefore God miraculously intervened.

But thats not the only possibility. Perhaps God created all of those impact craters during creation week for reasons we cannot phathom.

One thing we do find is that when we evaluate energies on this scale, we are generally wrong in our modelling. Witness global warming. Witness weather reports generally. Is that the same thing as God intervening miraculously to suspend the laws of our physics? From our perspective, it might as well be.

I don't believe that God created the impact craters in the creation week and neither did He create the fossils of dinosaurs and evidence of a world in the past with higher levels of oxygen and CO2 and more abundant and verdant vegetation.
Laws of physics are interpreted in what ever ways necessary by those who oppose the global flood to maintain their willful ignorance that the "world that once was, being overflowed with water perished."
The impacts were not so massive as to DESTROY the earth, only big enough to contribute to the Flood, and to initiate substantial waves in the crust. And there may have been a near miss of a cosmic object that later broke apart to form the asteroid belt, or the majority of the object was drawn into the sun or deep space, or maybe it is out there in a stable orbit as one of the smaller planetary moons.
