I know the biggest argument for Christian faith is that you get to go to heaven but I am really confused about this concept.
Why would anyone want to have an immortal soul? That sounds incredibly exhausting to me, like not being able to sleep. Isn't 70 or so years enough? Why would anyone want 1,000 plus years- no matter how good they are and how much time you got to spend with Jesus?
It also sounds like it would detract from the meaning of life. Life is meaningful because you only have a certain amout of time to spend and a certain time to accomplish things.
Besides worship, the things that make life interesting are work, adventure, and spending time with friends and family. If you had forever to do anything, wouldn't that take away from the weight of the moment?
I know Christians are incredibly passionate about their faith, and I highly respect you for being so passionate about what you believe in. I am just wondering what gives you all that passion?
