Immanuel?

OK so what does this mean? And why is it sometimes spelled with an E? Is it just another name for Jesus? How do we know this?

How come people don't see that verse as being contradictory? I mean..it says the name will be Emmanuel..and it isn't, it was Jesus. I'm not trying to be argumentative, I just don't get it.

well, Jesus is God.

before abraham he was, that makes him God, and he came, that makes him here, its God with us.

ohhhh........ your talking about the name.
he has many names.
like he had a bunch of them in the old testament, that described many diffrent aspects of him.

like santa clous and Chris Kringle and old saint nick.

God with us:

"I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one ..."
John 17: 23

"That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith ..."
Eph. 3:17

God is with us, the moment you asked the Lord to come into your life, to come into your heart. And He promised to never leave us nor forsake us.

Phil. 2 tells you how God came down, in the fashion of man. Jesus Christ was God manifest in the flesh, 2000 years ago God was walking literally and physically parts of this earth.

Today He lives in our hearts, if we invite Him.
