  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I would imagine :wink wink: that it is entertaining your imagination with things that are displeasing to God or things you feel God has asked you not to do.

I have had a struggle with this, myself. I always turn to the passage with this verse:
1 Corinthians 10:23 "Everything is permissible"--but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"--but not everything is constructive.

The verses around it really put it into context, but the gist of it is summarized in verse 31:
31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

If you write fiction, do it with God in mind. (Ask him for plot ideas. They aughta be good.) If you read fiction or watch Doctor Who on the tele, thank God for the ability to read and the money to pay the cable and if something controversial comes up, have a conversation with Him about it. I think that the real disobedience from using our imagination comes in when we try to cut Him out of that time.
