  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It wasn't until God bestowed such a wonderful miracle for me that I truly believed. I'm weak like that. There's so many people here that have so much faith even though they haven't experienced anything like I have. I can't tell you how much I admire you guys.

I think we all receive the miracles that are useful to us, it may not be something dealing with healing, but other important influences from God that let us know He is there.

Some of our struggles, I think, can be useful to us, either personally or in helping others.

Do not feel bad for this DT, I think Jesus understood this, that is why we have the story of Thomas in the Bible. It shows that even though he wanted to believe, he couldn't until he "saw" Jesus gave him what he needed, just as he did you!

And I will let you in on a little secret too
that even the best of us around here that appear to be the strongest go through times when we question things as well...

I know I have and my Faith has been weakened at the time

But I can tell you that we all have had miracles in our lives if we look at them, some of them are not that big but they are there. It is just those little things that the Lord does if we truly are looking out for them that let's all know that He is there and protecting us not only as a Congregation but also as individuals. It is just that depending on the individual as stated before, some of will need more than others and that is fine too, because then this is only further proof that He truly does walk with us individually...

May you find Peace

 DT. :)

Sometimes in our weakness is where we find the most faith. I know that in my doubts and dryness that that is when I cling to faith all the harder. That is when I search for Grace unceasingly, when I feel it is not to be found. Just as when it poured out on me abundantly, I tended to take it for granted.

There are none of us strong enough in our faith that we don't doubt, or struggle, or suffer. Perhaps we need these spurs to prod us along the path of holiness. It isn't easy, but we know the reward is great. We will pray for each other. :)

Peace be with you!

I know this is true, Debi. A priest who preached our annual Mission a few years ago stated that everyone sees miracles but not everyone recognizes them. He then went on to say that many people that see them do not speak about them. He suggested that those who don't speak about them will probably see fewer of them in the future.

Like my sister's blessed healing earlier this year.

Hi, Carrie

My grandfather's physician told me that when he was in Med school, he gradually drifted into agnosticism; but when he began to practice medicine, his Faith was gradually restored because he saw 'miracles' quite often.

Hi Michelina

I don't doubt that at all. A friend of mine is a surgeon, a good Catholic, and he's spoken about how his faith has been strengthened even witnessing the death of some of his patients.
