  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The last time I had to go under for surgery, they had to give me some kind of nerve medicine (prozac or something) because I was so scared. I have a huge fear of doctors, hospitals, needles, basically everything medical. So, you can't possibly be more of a baby about it than I was, if that makes you feel any better ;)

You'll be fine. However, if you wake up hungry do not...I repeat...do not eat a Steak 'n Shake burger as your first post-surgery snack. Trust me.

The drug was pobably Versed, its related to Valium, and works in 30seconds, prozac takes two weeks to work.;)

Good advice about not eating to early; my rule of thumb is 'eat when you are hungry', not when you think that you have to, else you might not have a good experience.

You're safer on that table than driving down the street at night in your car. Everything will come out fine.

[If you have life insurance, and you're feeling right with God, you've got nothing to worry about. Dying in your sleep isn't the worst way to go; I can think of a lot worse things to worry about than that.]

Boughtwithaprice, I think you are right about the drug. I know it worked almost immediately.

I also thought of something else: Do what your doctor tells you regarding fasting before surgery and such. I was in pre-op with a bunch of elderly ladies last time, and all of them were wearing makeup (a big no-no before eye surgery) and had eaten breakfast (contrary to doctor's orders) and were causing the pre-op nurses all kinds of hassle they really didn't need.

Rheotor, how can you say something like that?!  love is afraid, and her reason behind her fear is quite understandable. Really!

Thanks Rosa.

:(

Ufonium, I won't be able to eat anything but liquids the rest of the day. The next I can resume with light foods. Trust me, I won't be eating a burger but thanks for the advice! I'm going grocery shopping tomorrow to stock up on things like Jello and granola bars.

:)
