Im so nervous

Ok, so I am about to meet a guy that I have been talking to for over five months for the first time next week and I am so nervous. Anybody been through this before and now how to deal with it? I don't know anybody who has done online dating before and I am not really sure what to expect.

I met my wife over the computer in a band I work for's (Skillet) Fanclub and I've been in a couple other situations like this, so I'm probably qualified.

Basically, just be yourself. That's all you really need to be.

Remember a few things though: Stick to public places, let people know where you will be and are going, things like that.

hi, i'm meeting my SO next week too!! that's awesome
i think you should stay calm and not faint (hehe). that's number one on my priority list! i also decided to plan our day (complete with a numbered list) so we would spend less time being nervous about our hair and hygene (lol)and more time excited about doing being normal and hanging out. why does planning do this? i'm not sure, but it puts me at ease knowing there's a written plan that i can check off.

It is nice to know there is someone going through exactly what I am goin through. Even though I know him, I don't physically know him, and I am just nervous not everything will be the same in person as it is on the phone. I will be praying that your meeting goes well also

my biggest concern is that he'll be dissapointed with the way i look. we've given each other several videos and pictures but still.. there's nothing like seeing a person with your own two eyes.

i hope someone posts who has done that before and can give some advice. i'm thinking about wearing a hat and sunglasses. lol.

My biggest concern is that he will be disappointed also. I am hoping that won't happen but being a girl those thoughts definetely cross your mind

See I am the EXACT opposite. When I am around guys, especially ones I like I get all tongue tied and nervous. You are so lucky you don't have that problem. I am incredibly shy, and that just adds to the nervousness

It was an awful lot like talking to him the way we had....lol. Like we had the same connection. After it clicked that this was, in fact, my best friend that I'd been talking to for a year and a half...everything fell into place really.

Just be yourself....be the same as you are with him online. If you both have been pretty honest, and you act close to the same irl as online....things should be just fine.

As for the appearance...my boyfriend's webcam is not the best, and the pictures he sent were few and far between. But that particular thing was definitely not a problem for us when we actually met

So, the only advice I have, is when the nervous feeling wells up, and when you start to freak out a little bit, don't let it take over. Squash it down, remind yourself that this should actually be comfortable, and if you hit an awkward moment, think of how you behave with each other without the nervousness, and take a moment to reset.

Why do I know this? I went through this all last night - awkward for about 5 minutes, forced myself to reset, and then things went great. Have faith in God to pull you through to where you need to be.

mine is Saturday-Monday, we plan on going to a park and a museum. there's some sort of boardwalk we want to go to also. and he'll meet my parents on Sunday for Father's Day
