  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have been through some hard times. I came home from university and expected to get a full-time job no problem because I had a great job last year for the summer with only my high school... Well, was I wrong. I had interviews that all went well and I applied practically everywhere in April, even places I wouldn't really "want" to work. I also applied for part-time positions, even though I wanted full-time. I ended up picking strawberries, and then raspberries, and eventually blueberries... but the money was definitely not desirable.

I had a really good job interview on July 29th, and they called me Friday, last week, nearly a month later asking me to come in 2 hours later to start working. I was pretty much ready to give up, I stopped applying, I am going to school in September and that was going to be my only focus and I'd just go to school and not work. So, now I have a part-time job. I don't know how long I'll work there and so far I really like it, A LOT... You just have to hang in there.

Think about something that you're good at and enjoy doing, and try to figure out a way to make money doing it! Be creative and willing to step outside your comfort zone and don't worry about what other people think!

Like playing your guitar on the street hoping people will thrown money into your case?:p

I always wanted a job playing guitar or something like that...but then again...if you get a job doing what you love, it tends to make you not love it so much anymore

No doubt!!! That's hard to believe that sitting outside playing your guitar ,whether to make money or not. I live in Seattle and there are people all over the place who do that, shoot even now days there is a guy that stands at the corner where the cars go when they come off the free way and he stands there with an accordian and has this funny bike looking thing that he rides to get there and back. It reminds me of the images you see of those one man bands.

Man jobs always found me, you're lucky. I was a girl, people had kids, hey lets get the girl with no life to watch our kids. Pay her next to nothing, make her do our dirty dishes, clean our house, and take care of our horrible kids. Yea, great.

Mom even found me a job, I wasnt ready to just jump right in, so I fill out the application not so great. Make us some dumb stuff. Like what school did you attend? I write: school of hard knocks. They call me up the same day, and ask if I can come in and work right then. Go figure.

(When looking for a job) Interview them, what can it hurt. Why does it always have to be about are you good enough for them, why cant it be about are they good enough for you. (That is what I did, believe it or not I always got the job).
