Im not ashamed of mental illness

My mental illness is a weakness. I don't believe that it's God's punishment or demons. Sure the enemy may come against us in warfare, and sure God's chastens us. But this is none of those things in my opinion. It's just weakness if you ask me.

1 Corinthians 1:26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many [l]noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence. 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— 31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

Indeed I have so much peace, love and joy. Praise the Lord.

So I have anxiety attacks and hear voices in my head. So? Jesus freed me from sin and put love and joy in my heart. Praise the Lord. I'm blessed.

I'm not crazy I'm different. And Jesus is my wonderful Lord and Savior.

Hello brother, we have something in common...psychosis. I have been healed from the voices and visual disturbances. I don't know when it started, but I know there are apparently 3 phases to it. I believe i was in the prodromal phase for a long time months or more. I went into phase 2 around December 2024. It was aweful! I remember life prior to psychosis and it was much different. I hope i can be a blessing to you and you can bless me as well.

We most of all have in common our love for Christ and the Word of GOD! There are many ppl hear with different intention which we may never know. Ppl who have many opinions both good and bad. We just have to remember only GOD can judge motives and especially what's going on in someone else's mind and spirit. Many ppl have opinions just like Job's friends. We know how that went. Ppl are quick to make judgement pertaining to a matter they no nothing about. It would be pleasant if ppl wanted to understand the trauma and life altering circumstance we suffered, however, I've heard the same opinions you have. What a shame. The love I have for the LORD is deep. I fought and I fight EVERYDAY! I shared the Gospel as much I could before this situation. It has been hard coming back from a reality the was upside down. Believers and non-believers alike suffer from psychosis. I suffered from what was called Post-partum Psychosis. I have my own opinions of why this happened. If you're interested I'll share if not I understand! Anyway, I want to say more but I'll give you a chance to catch up and repond.

I wonder who encourages you? Spouse? Family? Friends? It's vital to healing! My husband, children, mom, siblings and some faithful, praying believers at the church I grew up in.
