If the "experts" contradict the bible then all you need is a little common sense to know the "experts" are wrong. We see creationists here claiming to know that the experts are all wrong... even when the creationists themselves are admittedly ignorant of the subject matter. It seems that if you read the bible and have "common sense," that you can critique the experts on stuff you know nothing about. How exactly, does this work?
The fact that the the previous generation of "experts" were refuted suggests they were never "experts" on the subject in the first place. They were simply wrong. The experimentation and observation that would refute the previous generation would never have been possible without them.

You had a problem with trends, I showed you that they spontaneously emerge even from complete randomness, I even showed you why the particular trend we were talking about should go the way it went, and that's what you take away from it? Something it didn't actually demonstrate, and was never meant to?
FWIW, the "statistic meaning of random" is not 50%. "Random" simply means that the exact same starting conditions can lead to different outcomes. It's common for people to think that "random" means "everything is equally likely", but that's most definitely not true.
[Aside: a minor correction to the description of my experiment. There were only 999 generations in which complexity evolved, because I forgot to change some numbers in my code. Doesn't make much of a difference, but I don't like leaving errors in my posts]
You are wrong on more than one point.
(1) I didn't say evolution was random. I said that even IF it were, trends would emerge.
(2) Randomness means precisely the opposite of what you say. If evolution is random, you can (a) never predict a trend with 100% certainty, though the larger your sample, the more certain the prediction; (b) even if the trend you predict goes according to expectations, you cannot predict which specific lineages will create the trend. Just like if you flip 100 coins, you can be reasonably sure there will be about 50 heads and 50 tails among them, but you can't tell which coins will land tails.

Random means no trend. What is wrong with that? (your little program defined the random, not the trend).
Evolution is random. Why is it not?
Please show me geocentrism in the Bible, using verses that cannot be construed any other way, or semantics that is unique. That's why the "experts" who contradicted the "bible" on the questions of geocentrism and the germ theory of disease where so far off huh? Well, fortunatly for you it is impossible that you could be as wrong about how to correctly interpret the bible as those people where huh?
So you feel pretty good about your interpretation of the Bible? What are you willing to wager that you got it right?Well, fortunatly for you it is impossible that you could be as wrong about how to correctly interpret the bible as those people where huh?
No. I simply reject your reality in favor of the reality the bible describes.Only if you pre-suppose that the Bible is infallible. Do we throw reality out the window when it contradicts the Bible?
This is one of my favorite passages in the Scriptures:"Proper hand-washing was difficult to achieve in those days . The lack of indoor plumbing made it difficult to get water. In order to make the water comfortably warm, it would have to be heated over a fire. Given advancements in education, modern plumbing, and emerging challenges related to increasing antibiotic resistance, it is difficult to understand how physicians are resistant to the most fundamental infection control practice."
My wife will not use chemicals on our lawn or garden. I figure if it kills plants it most likely is not good for humans either. Now I hear stories about dead zones in our ocean. "These "dead zones" are caused by an excess of nitrogen from farm fertilizers, sewage and emissions from vehicles and factories." 150 'dead zones' in world's oceans - US news - Environment - msnbc.comPest control -- without chemicals.

In other words, don't show me verses that use the same expressions as we use today -- like 'sunrise' or 'sunset'; but show me clear-cut geocentrism.
While you're at it, I would very much be interested in knowing which specific passage(s) convince you that geocentrism is taught in the Scriptures.
(Or am I going to have to take your point with a grain of salt?)
So you feel pretty good about your interpretation of the Bible? What are you willing to wager that you got it right?
Science isn't a bunch of people, it's a method of discovery. Science tells us the mortality rate, why it's happening and what we can do about it. If people ignore that information, whose fault is it when someone dies as a result?Every time I hear the hype about how wonderful Science is, I think about how many babies or mothers die because someone did not wash their hands. They establish that there is a 40% mortality rate at birth if the people do not wash their hands.
I remember my son, he use to tell me I am bigger now, I am more grown up. I do not make the mistakes I made when I was younger. Now Science is trying to tell me we are all grown up now. We do not make the mistakes we made when we were younger, you can trust us now.
For me, I am not convinced.
Why are you constantly referring to the Flintstone cartoon?I am not sure when did those fake birds appeared. I guess it is in late Cretaceous. So, what did evolution do to the dinosaur during Triassic and Jurassic time? And why did dinosaurs "wait" till Cretaceous to change?
Just as I thought. Please show me geocentrism in the Bible, using verses that cannot be construed any other way, or semantics that is unique.

Don't ask me AV. I couldn't care less. Ask the Christians who got it wrong on so many different occasions. Oh, but as an independent baptist it is impossible for you to interprete the bible incorrectly isn't it AV? The fact that all those other Christians point out the large body of evidence that says you are wrong is just the devils work, huh? Go ahead AV. Deliberately miss the point again and try to make this about geocentrism.
Don't worry -- we'll be glad to do our best to tell you what It says.Me, I have no interest in interpreting the bible right, wrong, or upside down.
The abortionists?Science isn't a bunch of people, it's a method of discovery. Science tells us the mortality rate, why it's happening and what we can do about it. If people ignore that information, whose fault is it when someone dies as a result?
