If you went driving somewhere or walking and became totally lost, so didn't know where you were. What would be the first thing youd do?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

if i had no map, moby/ cell phone or public phone i would knock on someones door and ask for directions or help, ive done it before and luckily found a lovely elderly couple who let me use their phone

Walking: Look for a place of business and ask directions or to use a phone/payphone.
Driving: Same as above.
I'm leery about knocking on stranger's doors. I'd do it if I had to, but I'd look for a business first.

Get my bearings as to where I am in space - like where's a waterway - or a mountain or what can I see - any recognizable buildings - main roads - whatever. I use that as my starting point - say if I know my destination is the river - and I'm up on a hill - I start drivign down roads that would lead to the bottom - ultimately the river.
Its a matter of finding a starting point of familiarity and going from there. Even if you are 100% clueless where you are, you can use logic to determine key terraine around you.
