  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm looking for hymn resources.

I'm new to the church (3 1/2 years) and just started playing guitar with the music team. We are a fairly contemporary church with a blended service. I know all of the contemporary songs, because music and chord charts are readily available, and more importantly, CDs are everywhere. I don't have the luxury of an abundanve of traditional hymn CDs to listen to. I want to learn them, as they are a vital part of the church's corporate worship through music. I just feel left in the dark, because a lot of people have a bit of an attitude toward the younger generation's music. I didn't grow up in church, so all of it is new to me, including the hymns. Anyone know how I can 'catch up'? Blessings.

Some hymnals have the chords printed these days... although when it comes to the guitar, I am about as clueless as one can be.

I'd suggest searching things like "online hymnal" and "cyber hymnal" at any search engine. There seems to be quite a few of them and this will probably help you.
