Hi everyone,

I would like to request some praying to help me release the pain and hatred I feel right now. A christian has deeply hurt my feelings. I don't want to say nasty things about her, but still feel angry inside. So please help me out.

As you know I am not a christian, but I respect every religion equally. Recently I've visited a Chinese christian forum and was attacked by a particular member there. She claims herself to be a christian, but she doesn't really welcome non-christians there, especially mormons. She openly spoke out that she doesn't want any mormon to come to the forum, and she would accused all the bad missionaries to be mormons. I thought her speaking was being unfair so I spoke out to disagree with her. Then she started saying that I was judgemental and I didn't read enough books to speak to her nor talk about christianity.

Yesterday she started arguing with me in a post related to missionary. The person who post the thread had some problem with missionaries so he was asking for help. Then that girl insisted that those missionaries were definitely mormons and his post was not welcomed. The original post person got confused and wondered what's the big deal ('cause he is not a mormon), so I post a thread to explain that christians don't accept mormonism and christians are not getting along with mormons in this forum. Then the girl started saying to me "why don't you become a mormon since you support them so much," and she also said "you definitely hate God that's why you don't want to be a christian." She was so harsh that I don't want to visit that christian forum anymore.

I feel deeply hurt by this christian. However, I do not want to hate her, nor do I want my hatred to grow toward all christians. Right now I have hard time controlling myself, so please pray for me. Thank you!

ps. I'm not a mormon myself, but I believes mormon deserve respect as well.

I am very sorry this has happened. It is hard for people not to lash out when they feel they are threatened (and this means simply when they feel their values are being contradicted as it sounded like might have been the case with the woman you mentioned), but as Christians we are told not to do that.

Hello Mancypeng,

It is difficult to be hurt by a Christian, and it's confusing as all get out. Understand that you do not have to hate Christians because of this one womans behaviour. This attitude is not present in every Christian, there is alot of it in Christianity, but it's not in every Christian. In moments where this happens look and see what Christ would have done. When you look to him it doesn't matter what other people think. I recommend getting a Bible and reading the 4 Gospels when you're hurt, because there is no one who can heal spiritual wounds like Jesus, who is known as the Great Healer.
Also understand that sometimes it's hard for Christians to understand why non-Christians will not become Christians. As a Christian grows to know Christ more, Christianity begins to make more sense, and sometimes in trying to get non-Christians to see that sense they hurt feelings, or give garbled, confused messages. Once again I recommend looking to the Bible...especially the New Testament.
As far as the Mormon thing goes. I have grown up in two states of the US where Mormonism is the dominant religion, I have studied it, and while I love the people, they're very friendly and kind, they are not Christians. Understand that just because a religious group bears the name of Christ doesn't mean that it is following the teachings of Christ, or truly Christian. We are told in the Bible that anyone bearing a false testimony, or another gospel should not be allowed to enter our gates. This takes away the risk of being inticed to join a false religion, and it helps ensure a bit that Christianity will continue. Most Christians who have studied Mormonism will tell you it is a false religion, and this woman might have been taking the command to an extreme. There is nothing wrong with being courteous, indeed courtesy will more than likely create a better unspoken testimony about how a Christian lives than slamming the door in their face and being mean. Once again look to Christ. While he would've talked to a Mormon Missionary courteously and kindly, he also would not have agreed with their doctrines.
Just remember that not all Christians behave in the way this woman behaved to you, so don't let her words taint your view on Christianity, and Christians as a whole.
Once again if you want to know what Christianity is...look to it's founder...Christ.
Peace Be With You Friend,
Eruliel

First of all, Mormons ARE Christians! Dont let anybody tell you otherwise. Also, there are all kinds of Christians. Just because a person calls herself a Christian, that does not mean that she is a good person. There are Christians who have only their salvation. They do not have a relationship with God, and hardly ever think about Him except on Sunday, or during a crisis. True Christians, have given themselves to God completely, mind, body, spirit and soul. And in doing so, that will take on the very character of God, which is a character of love, kindness and mercy. Forgive her and move on.

Dear Lord,

For glory and honor of Your name, please show Yourself to this person. I pray also that the reformation and transformation of the heart be into one that is willing to forgive those that sin against them. I also pray for the Chinese person on the forum. Whoever that is, please help them to be kind, but firm; compassionate, but willing to be give another responsibility for what they did or must do. I pray for slavation to come to his person and ask Yuor power to work it out and to brin along side people that will direct them in the direction to You according to Your will. I pray for a forgiving heart in this person and to the Chinese person. In Jesus name I pray to You, Amen.

Im sorry that you were hurt by someone who says they are a christian. It is sad, but we cannot hate everyone for one person's faults.

Let me ask you , if one chinese hurt you and offended you, would you hate all chinese?

I dont think you would.

So why would you even think about hating all christians for one person's failures?

May I ask why you are not a christian?

God loves you, sent his son Jesus to die for you , for every sin you have ever commited. Thats how much He loves you and does not want you to perish , but that you be made new in Him , His very own child, that you be saved from the wrath to come.

The choice is yours to whom you wish to serve as God gives each one of us that choice to serve evil or good, God or satan , obedience or disobedience.

I pray that you make the right decision for your soul today .

If I can be of any help to you please let me know.

In Christ's service always, Evang.smth

Very sorry the person was offensive. I think she is definitely in the minority with that attitude. However, Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven (and that forgiveness is available to all). At times, any Christian could use that lapel pin that says: PBPGINFWMY (Please be patient, God is not finished with me yet). ;)

Also, I see that you are getting different replies relating to Mormonism. If you are interested, here is a good Christian site on that: www.contenderministries.org/mormonism.php

Aloha in Jesus, friend :)

Mancypeng, I am sorry also for your experience. I find that on this forum too. I would recommend you block that person, but seek out others who are more sensible there! You'll find here that every person is SO different, you're bound to find some great ones. And we learn from each other. We will pray for her too--God can work inside people's hearts in ways that we cannot. Sometimes there's just nothing you can say to a person.

What I find here, though, are some really wonderful transformations that transcend what we'd think were possible while chatting. Real life goes on here. A few people this week had solutions to healing after prayer. Hang around a little while, and avoid the people who stir up trouble.

It is apparent Mancypeng that this woman is not displaying characteristics nor attributes that exhibit the Christian lifestyle. To make remarks like the ones she made is simply downright wrong. Because of our human nature we have feelings. Sometimes we would desire to be separated from our feelings, especially when they are hurt if we are the receiver.

Therefore, I would pray for the woman that she find the wisdom to know that her remarks were wrong and that she would come to the true knowledge of the Truth. I will also pray for you that you come to Christ while there's still time. Remember, Mancypeng, that waiting till tomorrow is not promised to us. Just last week, a dear friend of mine who was a chef for the company that I work for was smiling, and talking about what he was planning to do this last weekend, but he got into a heated agrument with his spouse, and in his anger, put his fist through a window, cut his main artery, and he bleed to death. One good thing that came out of this incident was the fact that he received the Lord in his life last year. So mancypeng, today is the day of salvation. And I'll pray not only that you do not hate that woman who attacked you, and hurt you, but that you receive Christ, because He sooooooo much want to fellowship with you.

You will know them by their fruits.

If someone says they're a christian but they have a reviling tongue, it can be 3 things.

1. She's making a mistake somehow. She's saved but just got the wrong idea. Often this is lack of wisdom which comon, all learning christians go through.

2. She is NOT a christian. Remember if people say they love God but hate their brother they are liars. Period. To hate is to murder. If she hated people who do evil things then there could be justification but she's hating people out of partiality which is just wrong.

3. She's a christian having a bad day. And comon, everyone goes through bad days.

My advice, is just keep your distance for now. There's no point in trying to argue really. Most real christians are friendly folk who won't do things like that and if they do, it is unknowingly, unwillingly or lack of understanding which is just something you'll have to let go.

I've lashed out like that to people in the past myself, it was lack of wisdom at the time. God's grace keeps us growing in Him :).

So really, just move away from hot headed people and stick with some who are a more level headed. At least until they get their misunderstandings in check :)

Please understand, that there are all kinds of Christians. Just because a person calls themself a Christian, that does not mean that he or she is a good person. If you would like, I could explain to you about the different types of Christians and different levels of Christian growth. I've encountered so many mean spirited Christians on these forums, I now prefer to call myself a "Child of God", instead of Christian. A true Christian has matured spiritually and taken on the very character of our God. The true character of our God, The Great God of Israel, is: Love, Goodness, Mercy, Kindness, Patience, Tolerance and Joy.

Mormons are NOT Christians. If a Mormon happens to be a Christian, that is only because he or she is a bad Mormon. But this is not supposed to be about that.

Well, I'd have to talk to this lady to find out everything thats up with her. But not all of us are extreme like that, trust me. I try to evaluate someone before I categorize them. This one doesn't seem to bother.

I'll pray for you. Especially I will pray that a solid, Bible believing Christian will show you the love of Christ.

Everyone needs and deserve at least some respect. Don't hate all Christians because of the actions of a few, and those few, believe it or not, believe themselves to be the only Christians. What does salvation consist of ? Following what is perceived "the correct Scripture" only, or faith in Jesus Christ? Some say we should not read other versions of the Bible apart from the KJV, and others say we should do this, or do that to be saved. One should read the Bible for themselves, and see what God says about it, and for us to understand what Jesus said and did. That is the only thing we should be concerned about - our own faith - not what others believe. Also read Hebrews 4:12; Psalm 19:8; Psalm 119:11; Psalm 19:7; Psalm 111:7,8; Psalm 119:142, 151, 160 what is said there about the Word of God. The Bible is sufficient for all believers, and we are not to add to it, nor subtract from it.

I am sincerely sorry that you were hurt. This person has problems that she needs to deal with, and she probably does not see it being a problem. She in her heart thinks she's doing the right thing. The problem is that it's not the right thing and especially not a godly thing. Please try to deal with her as an individual not as just a "christian". Everybody definately needs to be respected. The only advice that I can give is to ignore and not give into her banter. She'll try to provoke you, but just be the stronger one not to reply. I will pray to God that he will deal with her behaviour towards others as well as yours.

Such bitterness between religious beliefs.Praying you get through this and lift it up as persecution.Sorry you haven't been able to get past this.I don't hold much anger about net ranting though,it's why I don't chat anywhere. You'll realize that christian chats bring out the monster in some.We can't get along because we don't have to.It's a computer, remember that and forget her.
