  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey, Jesse. Fish are good pets when you live in a dorm that doesn't allow anything like rodents or kittens. :) Check out the different kinds at WalMart or PetsMart. Be sure to see all of them before deciding, because you might buy one and then see one you like better. Also - be sure to read the information for each fish you like: temperature, food, and what other fish make good tank buddies.

Betta fish MUST be kept apart from other fish! Comes in blue, red, or yellow color. They're good if you only have room for *small* fish tanks.

I gave my betta (blue male) to my boyfriend for his betta tank. I have another 1-gallon aquarium that has 3 goldfish, and the empty tank I'm saving for one or two African Dwarf frogs. Those are good because they live underwater 24/7.

Bettas can be kept with any other fish except other male bettas. The only exception is some fish which will nip the betta's fins, and fancy guppies, whose tails confuse the betta into thinking it's another male.

Go with Zebra Danios, they're great. Or male guppies. Remember to read up on how to take care of them. Run the filter with no fish for three weeks first, or your fish will die. And don't get any from Petmart! 4/6 of the fish from there have died.
