Hello,

I am currently on day 8 of a 40 day water fast. I take photos of myself everyday to se the transformation.

I wasnt real religious before starting this fast but it certainly has got me contemplating god and and meaning of life.

<staff edit>

God Bless

Hello and welcome to the forums. I wish you all the best in your fasting, although I do not know what the purpose of your fast is. If through this you want to feel God's presence in your life, then I'm sure He will help you find Him, but you have to be honest in your search!
God bless you!

I just totally re-read your post and you are doing this for all the wrong reasons. You are doing this to lose weight, not get closer to God. And I quote:

I am not doing this for spiritual, masochistic or anorexic purposes. Purely for a cleanse and some weightloss. My lifestyle of junk food and laziness while a student has caught up with me and I just graduated from uni so need to get myself into shape for the workforce.

This was taken directly from your website you started. Did you read in all of your research that a diet like this puts your body into survival mode and you will lose minimal calories compared to if you workout and watch your diet. If you are going to try a diet go for the protein overload diet, where it cuts out all of your main carbs and you remain full because of the protein you are consuming. You gain muscle faster, boost your metabolism, and by gaining muscle your body consumes the fat in your body as fuel during the day when you aren't working out.

Thanks for spamming a really good Christian Forum though. Awesome! *sarcasm*

No. I'm saying fasting for 40 days can kill you.

You aren't Jesus.

I am sorry but that is definitly not true. Many people have done 40 day fasts. You would need to drink water unless the LORD Himself sustains you.

in the bible Jesus wasnt even the first person to do a 40 day fast ;)

Don't be flip. Definitely not true? I said 'can', not 'will'. 40 days without food can kill, and has. Before embarking on such a fast you would be well advised to consult a physician to ensure that your state of health is such that you will not cause irreversible harm to yourself. This is not something to be entered into lightly.

And you, as staff, should know better than to treat it so. Do you have any idea the amount of the lawsuit you just exposed CF to with your post if something does happen to brucester25?

We apparantly crossed communications, and for that I am sorry. I agree that people should consult a physicial and God for that matter, I read your post wrong, nothing to it.

 I exposed nothing to CF. Please remember that this is a website, and I never said do not see a physician. I simply mistook your post it is as simple as that.

I think this ends our conversation. Take care

A 40 day fast can be done, but you have to know what you're doing. You have to take time to prepare your body for it, you don't just go into it all willy-nilly and then you need to know the correct way to come off of a long fast like that. You can't just go and order a big steak dinner and fries or it would kill you. Please read all of the information on how to do this. You're in my prayers.

An overweight person suddenly going on a 40-day water fast is unwise. You should start with a 3-day or 7-day fast instead, and slowly build up to a 10-day fast over a few months. Then slowly build up to a 20-day fast. Don't even try a 40-day fast unless you've been conditioning your body and building up to something like that for at least 18 months. An overweight person not accustomed to fasting at all, jumping into a 40-day fast, can and will likely die from toxins overloading their bloodstream, or their intestines could get glued together from the mucussy toxins flooding them, and the intestines have to be cut in half and scraped if that's the case. This has happened to people in the past from even just a 10-day fast. There are two short and very scientific treatises on how to fast, that are regarded as the classics on the subject: Rational Fasting and the Mucusless Diet Healing System by Arnold Ehret. Do yourself a favor and memorize those books before attempting a 40-day.
