When I typed that I was meaning to stop watching certain YouTube videos of people who lack self control and regularly exploit their bodies for views, do pranks, break rules and encourage people to do just that. Also, to stop watching certain YouTube musicians and listening to certain pop music. These things are very addicting and very entertaining to me and I need to rid myself of them. Those are some of the types of things I meant by getting rid of the worldly things.

That's not the same thing as what you posted below in the quote:
I'm trying to rid my life of worldly things and become Holy

You know, when we get bored and lonely, an d don't have confidence to meet others, our minds work overtime. They often convince us we are one of a kind, a weird person. No one like us exists in the world. No one has the hang ups and thoughts we have. It isn't true. It's surprising how many are exactly like us.

You are so right.

I went to great pains to explain that much of my own life I have not taken up my particular cross set before me and carried it, that should tell you I have then not put Christ first as I should do. And I made sure I explained that as I am not someone who likes to give the impression I am at some lofty place and everyone needs to be where I am. That is far from the truth.
However, you asked me a question, so I either refuse to answer it, or answer it honestly. I figured you would want the honest answer

It's not the same but the original statement was a summary of what I expanded on. I didn't want to go into it in the original post but since you asked I figured it could benefit somebody if I typed it.

Matthew B, The responses that have been given have been edifying and encouraging.

'nuff said.

I'll leave you to your testimony then.

Thanks, I'm glad that this could help some people as it has surely helped me :)

I was referring to the responses to you from other members.

It was very kind of each of them to respond to you.

The rest of it is between you and the living God.

You mentioned "holy".

What did you mean by that?

Thank you kindly.

(Just curious. I'll be leaving you to your testimony thread after this).

Oh yes for sure. I thanked all of them already or most. But yeah, sorry to assume what you meant! :)

I remember a certain scripture that says something like let the evil continue to be evil, let the good continue to do good and let the holy continue to be holy. That is what I was referring to. I want to be the holy one who continues to be holy.

I think to be holy you must live in the light. Follow all the ten commandments. Establish a true relationship with Jesus Christ and really have Him guide your life. They must have Jesus say they know them on the Day of Judgement. They can't be lukewarm and they can't shrink back. They must do everything Jesus commands them to. They must hear from God. And they must be certain about their salvation and God has to make the future known to them or the things to come. These things are all scriptural and these are the things I think make a person holy.

By the way these aren't everything I think someone must do. But these are the ones I thought of. Thanks for reading!

Hey, I've been awake since like 5 pm and I'm awake at 5 am. My sleep schedule is crazy. Normally I'll watch and listen to worldly things because I'm soooo bored and I need something to do. But I'm trying to rid my life of worldly things and become Holy. So I can't be looking towards the world's entertainment to fill my boredom. What can I do when I'm bored? The temptations come heavy when I have nothing to do. What wholesome things can I do to fill my life with positivity and not destruction? My life would be sooooooooo much better if I knew what to do with it besides fill it with empty entertainment.
I do not experience boredom. I get tired and need rejuvenation, but not bored in the sense that I believe you have intended. There are too many things to be mentally/spiritually worked through and prayed for. Too much insight yet to be gained from the Holy Spirit. How can I be bored in the midst of a raging war? How can I be bored when there are so many desperate souls out there? How can I be bored with so much yet to be learned from God's Word?

I suspect that you studying the doctrine and practice of prayer--its history and application--will reveal how necessary your ministry of prayer is. Your participation as a prayer warrior is vital in God's plan for the US. Consequently, you will probably began to experience the urgency in every hour with less boredom.

Study the Bible topically as much as possible. Create topical folders on your Computer and believe for the Lord to fill your mind with His knowledge. Record your new insights and be ready to share them. I can think of few things more exiting in this life.

I find that as I minister more to both the ungodly and godly spiritual things, I have less desire for entertainment in the usual sense. Simply spending time with someone else while being mutually edified in the Lord is also great refreshment.

God bless!

Can I give you some advice? If you dont want an in depth discussion on the way to achieving holy living, it would be advisable to stop here.
You can get innundated with people eager to show you their own particular version of the truth/ true way.
As your thread concerned boredom, I pretty much stuck to that, others may not

Have you read the free ebook, Knowledge Of The Holy by A.W. Tozer? Recommended reading even though I don't agree with all of his statements and conclusions.

This is why i responded in this thread.

What i found most profoundly curious is your comment in response to me saying how GOOD God is, that you got "worried".

Most interesting.

Adios.

This is a "testimony" thread.

Yeah, the deeper things of God just might sorta' show up in a "testimony" thread, amen?

You mean preaching to those you consider less knowledgeable than you.
Some dont want to be preached at.
In fact, in my immense time I have spent on these websites, I have come to believe those doing the preaching get gratified, but seldom do their listeners
