You're in my prayers and I pray that God would bless you with peace. And that He would send His Angels to suround you and keep you safe and keep whatever demons away from you.

My sister and her friends tried doing some occult things and something started to bother one of her friends. So since they were Catholic they decided to pray the Rosary for 40 nights and after that whatever was bothering the friend stopped. I'm not sure if you know about the Rosary, but maybe your mother or another friend does know it or maybe another Catholic at the board could pray it for you (I would myself but I have yet to be taught how to do it properly).

But don't worry, God will protect you!

I very much agree with everything that is said on this forum. Take this very seriously (I know you do). The best advices posted in this forum, in my opinion, is to 1: say scripture outloud, sing Christian songs, keep the power of God going out from you "out loud" and 2: ask a christian to put his hands on you and demand the demons and evil spirits to leave your body. This is almost common in the Bible, and as I've grown up in Madagascar I'm very used to this as well, and I've seen results from this. Keep your mind on God and keep in touch/talk with Him all the time. And I will be praying for you! Keep posting in this forum, I'm very interested in hearing how you are doing.

I woke up and told my mother, "Mommy, mommy a ghost was shaking my bed!" It took me hours and top of hours to finally get to sleep because I was SO scared the incident would happen again. I feel that thing I called a "ghost" when I was younger was actually a demon now.
Thank you,
Alicia:sigh:

Were you able to move when this happened? What you're describing sounds a lot like sleep paralysis, where basically you're sort of half-way between being awake and asleep. You often experience a "false awakening" in which you think you wake up but in fact you're still dreaming. These dreams tend to be very vivid and realistic, and quite scary too owing to the fact that you can't move. I've experienced quite a few of them, where I've "woken up" and generally found that there was someone/something (sometimes ghosts, sometimes burglars, and one time a walking skeleton [this was particularly scary as I had to attend a funeral the next day!]) in my room moving towards me, and that I've been completely unable to do anything because I can't move. They were pretty damned scary - after waking from them I usually needed to keep the light on for a while, as I reassured myself that it was just a dream! Fortunately over the last few years I've been able to gain some level of control over my dreams, so that when that happens I'm able to recognise it as a dream, and force myself to wake up.

Here's some information I've found on sleep paralysis. Hope it helps.

Sincerebliss,

I totally understand where you are coming from. I loved Jesus as a child, but over the years into my teens and young adult life I moved away from him. There was a period of time that I dabbled in occult things, especially tarot cards, yoga, etc. I was fascinated by it and seemed to have a "knack" for it. At the same time, my life was going down the drain as I was dominated by what I know now was the influence of demons who were bent on destroying my life.

Your dreams are spiritual in nature. First, be assured that Jesus is not afraid of anything or anyone. He is seated on high, in TOTAL authority over these creatures. They were created by Him, and He is in control. They don't cause Him one instant of anxiety. You must believe that.

The items that you have in your home of an evil nature are cursed and give those demons the right to perch in your area. They are "breaches of security." Get the cursed things out of your home. They are spiritual cancer.

Lord, I pray in Your precious and worthy name that You open the spiritual eyes of Your child to the danger of the items in her home that are cursed. Lord, I pray that you give her a keen insight into Your power and authority. You are the King of everything, and there is nothing You cannot do. I pray that you quicken her spirit to see that these demons are seeking to claim a territory that is not rightfully theirs using deceitful methods. Father, release her from their oppression. Open her spiritual eyes to see that she can be free of torment in JESUS' name. Lord, may You fill her with the purpose to cleanse herself from unholy things and experience the perfect peace that is found in walking in Your way, knowing and acknowledging only You as her Lord. Amen.

Hi sincerebliss,

Got here a bit late. I think that Apep has a point, I experienced that type of sleep paralysis when I was sleeping too much of the day away. In that case I heard voices and even saw things. Even when I struggled to wake up it was hard to do. Even during the day I heard voices. I was under a lot of stress because of moving to another country where I could not speak the language and had next to no possibility to communicate with others. After I learned the language all was better. Now I almost never take naps and see to it that I do not oversleep.

I used to dabble in occult things too with a friend, because I thought they were cool. I heard voices. She ended up going on to witchcraft and satanism and got suicidal (eventually got over it with lots of counseling). Little did I know then, but my parents were praying that she would stay away from me, since they couldn't watch me every minute to keep me away from her. It worked.

Some may say that it is all in your head, I think that depends.

Whatever you do, get rid of the occult stuff and find friends that do not dabble in it. That helped me stay away from it.

I would also recommend you to open up a bible and read a bit. The book of John is my favorite, then comes Matthew, Luke and Mark. Pray to God sincerely to tell you the meaning of what you find there. "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who aske receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." Matthew 7:7,8.

Will pray that you can keep away from the occult and stay in peace. :groupray:

Hi beloved42,
Took a look at beliefnet and am not impressed. There are some out there that want to syncretize = blend religions together. But in my opinion Christians can't be anything else but believers in Christ because he says that he is the only way to the father. He was very clear on that one, no chance of misinterpreting Scripture there.

Occult is a tall order. It can include a lot of things. The horoscope is a simple one and quite popular even among Christians. That still does not make it right. It can include Tarot card reading and any sort of divining things out for the future. Jesus Christ told us not to worry about the future because he will take care of us no matter what happens. His reign will be the future.

Occult includes ouija boards and any kind of attempt to try to contact the dead or spirits. There is only one Holy Spirit that is planted in us when we are born again. Anything else is unholy. That is why the scriptures forbid us to even try to make contact with the dead.

I would stay away from that woman too, if I were you. I wouldn't go to beliefnet for Christian ideas and encouragement either. Be careful when going to Christian sites, though, too. Some are too far in the opposite direction for my taste. Authoritarian ultra-conservativism can be unhealthy too, in my opinion. I have been acquainted with too many people, including myself that have been hurt by legalism in that kind of environment.

The best thing is to get acquainted with Scripture and pray, and you will find that the passages you need come to mind when you need them. That is the working of the Holy Spirit.

If you have never heard of discernment, go to Tricia Tillin's site at http://www.banner.org.uk or try my site out. I am only at the beginning of discernment. I research church movements and cults, often comparing the two and using Scripture to show where they go wrong in their doctrines. You can't be too careful these days. My site: http://www.jamesfive19.com . I don't have many articles yet, but I can recommend the stuff on my links page. Some people have been researching much longer than I have. Hope this helped. :)

I think I need a prayer. I dabbled into the occult a lot. This was mainly witchcraft, meditation, and tarot cards.:help: I've usually had dreams regarding spirits, but just this past week or so, (when I thought about becoming Christian) I've had demonic dreams. I fell asleep today, after attending church on my own accord, and I had a dream about demons possessing me. This is my third dream and every one gets progressivly stronger. I have had two similar dreams this week and let me tell you, I'm beginning to get scared.
Additionally, when I was younger (about 5-7) I woke up from a deep sleep to my bed violently shaking and I heard an audible voice trying to scare me. This was real, not a dream. I woke up and told my mother, "Mommy, mommy a ghost was shaking my bed!" It took me hours and top of hours to finally get to sleep because I was SO scared the incident would happen again. I feel that thing I called a "ghost" when I was younger was actually a demon now.
All, I know is that I need a serious prayer and I'm not usually one to ask. Someone please.
Thank you,
Alicia:sigh:

I was right where you were 20 years ago. A few weeks after turning to Jesus I awoke to see a black man size shape standing by my bed. I said "In Jesus name..." and it slowly faded with blue swirling energy inside of it. Numerous other attacks came that first year, and several things since. Prior to me being a Christian I had too many demon experiences to recount here, but some were similar to yours.
All I can say is believe Jesus is stronger and project that by faith. It's an invisible force, the power of Gods Spirit - but just believe without doubt and challenge every opposition. I am probably a little more bold and daring in that I refuse to fear the spirits and I get myself in a state of mind where I KNOW I will defeat them. I pray God gives you the same courage to stand up to them. We should be making the demons run from us, not the other way around. They are like bullies or punks who like to pick on people who they think are weaker. They like to keep you in fear hoping you will never realize the power you have in Christ. But once you realize and excercise the power you have in Christ they will flee. Their attacks will appear as jokes to you sometimes.
A few years ago I had a 6' 6" blonde man appear in my hallway. He looked like a wrestler and was very powerfully built... would have weighed about 300 pounds in the physical. He called me a false prophet and I just turned around and called him a false Jesus and rebuked it in the name of Jesus. (It psychically told me it was Jesus!) I ran right at the giant and it backed up, tripped over the bathtub rim and disintegrated in blue powderly glasslike mist. This was not a dream either - it really happened... so you CAN defeat these things, and I will pray for your strength too :)

The power of God is greater than any demonic force. They must flee when the blood of Jesus is near. I had the same battle as you. God is getting closer or they wouldnt be fighting so hard for your soul. You are going to experience how powerful God really is, he will deliver you from darkness into his kingdom of light. He will crown you a princess warrior a child of the Most High God. Praise his Holy Name. I will be in prayer for you daily. Who the Son sets free is free indeed. Thank you Jesus!

Hi Alicia -
I'm so glad you haven't been having the dreams lately, after all the prayers. Just in case they should return or some other form of demonic problems (such as the shaking bed, a common one) should arise, I would like to post my personal testimony and that of a friend that might help you as you seek a way to get rid of these things once for all. (These have been posted before to similar questions). Also, it appears to me that the demons are trying to scare you away from church and from becoming a Christian. That way they would lose.

First, my testimony:

"I am secure in my own beliefs, which I came to not by a leap of faith but by the intellect. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by Me." So that verse boils down to the famous question, "Is Jesus the Lord, a liar, or a lunatic?"

:("I was raised in a liberal "Christian" church that taught there were mistakes in the Bible. I swallowed it whole, never asking them to show me the mistakes so I could check them out for myself. Instead, I became an atheist for about 12 years. Then I made the mistake of playing the Ouija Board, and became demon oppressed. I quickly realized the reality of the supernatural world. More than that, I would pray when the strange things would happen, and they would immediately stop for a time. That proved to me that there had to be a good supernatural being who had dominance over the evil.

:confused:As I was terrified, I started searching various religions to see where the truth was. The puzzle pieces finally fell into place when I read The Late Great Planet Earth, a book on Christian Evidences about Biblical prophecy. It showed that past prophecies had been fulfilled 100% of the time, and convinced me there had to be a God guiding the writing of the Bible. There was a Gospel invitation in the book, and I accepted Christ as my sinbearer at that point. [Immediately the oppression dramatically dwindled and eventually stopped.]

"I have been saved for 33 years now and it just gets better with time. The God of the Bible has never, ever let me down. He has changed me profoundly, and there have been many, many miracles, both small and large (but I am not using that as proof, as many religions have miracles, though they don't have the external proofs I have mentioned).

"In the Bible it says that the true God draws all people to Himself, and that the Holy Spirit convicts them of sin, righteousness, and judgment (in other words, of the need for a Savior).

"I have come to realize that Christianity is a relationship, not a religion. It is unique - we do not obtain Heaven by our own good works, contrary to the beliefs of all religions. Salvation is based on Christ's goodness, not our own. We receive eternal life when we make the decision to trust in Christ alone to pay for all our sins on the cross, (past present and future), and trust in Him to take us to Heaven one day, without any good works of our own. (Rom. 3:23, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, I Peter 3:18, and John 3:16). The Bible says also that we cannot lose our salvation (see "gift" in Romans 6:23 and Romans 11:29 and also John 10:28-29 - we can't even take ourselves out of God's hand). I hope that you will make the decision someday to trust in Christ as your sinbearer (without any good works of your own)." I am absolutely convinced that this is the best weapon against Satan and his demons.

Next, the story about my friend:
"My reason for writing is in the hope of encouraging you a bit from something I have witnessed concerning the supernatural world, (though I realize your situation is different) and the hope that something I say might result in your increased safety. I can summarize it by saying that the true God is able to protect you as you seek Him. "You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."

"I had been an atheist, then accidentally got involved in the occult (it can happen), then trusted in Christ as my sinbearer. A Christian friend I had, told some of her friends about me. They wanted to talk to me because they were in the occult, and had eventually gotten very frightened. They wanted out. (One was a Satanist, one was a black witch, and two were white witches.)

"The person who seemed in the greatest immediate danger was a Satanist. (The Satan Seeker gives a good example of the types of things he did and things that happened to him). Through card reading, etc., the demons had told him that the wife of his parent's pastor would die within a week (it happened - she commited suicide). Later they told him that his father would die within a week (it happened - he had a heart attack). So when they told him he would one day die by fire or by water, he was terrified. At that time, he asked my friend to make an appointment for the three of us. We did, and prayed daily for his safety. Because he was so terrified, he delayed for months before finally seeing me.

"That particular day, the phone rang at 8:00am - I figured it was something really important, because my friends knew not to call around that time since I would be having daily devotions. Sure enough, it turned out to be my friend "Shirley". She said that "John" wanted to make an appointment to meet that night, for the first time. I was so happy, and told her that when the phone rang I had been praying for John's safety.

"Long story short, while I was telling John that night about my occult experiences, Shirley interrupted all of a sudden and said, "Cathy was praying for your safety at eight this morning." John looked astonished, and said, "I was at the top of a long flight of concrete steps at that time - I had just looked at my watch. Though no one was behind me, I felt like someone shoved me in the back. I fell all the way down, but I wasn't hurt in the slightest." Eventually John left the occult and became a Christian, and was never harmed. (The other friends, once they made the same choices, also were delivered from harm)." One of the witches trusted Christ as her Savior, asked forgiveness for her specific occult sins, based on the power of Christ and His shed blood for her commanded Satan to depart, and got rid of all her occult possessions except for her crystal ball, which she said was too beautiful to destroy. She started going blind. Within about 4 months she was almost completely blind. Her boyfriend sneaked the crystal ball out and got rid of it. Her vision then returned completely.

Radio Bible Class has info on "Demon Possession" if you want to know more. Go to www.rbc.org/questions/answer/paranormal/ and click on "Demon Possession".

I hope these posts will encourage you, not worry you further. I'm not trying to scare you into becoming a Christian, but God is stronger than Satan and his demons - always. Once you have trusted in Christ as your sinbearer, you'll be on the winning team, friend. I'll pray for you and for your safety, Alicia. Please contact me if you ever want to ask questions.
