Hey all!

Glory to Jesus Christ! Thank you all for your prayers for me and for the children over the past three months, while I was serving as a missionary to a Ukrainian orphanage. Your prayers were precious beyond measure, and through them, God blessed us with very good results and progress with those wonderful kids

Many wonderful things happened. One of the greatest moments was watching a little girl learn how to walk. Also, watching the children all commune of the Body and Blood of Christ was beyond description. I'd love to tell you all more about the time there if you have any questions

If I knew how, I would post pictures for you all to see. Anyone have any idea how to do that?

In Christ,
John

Haha... You're sure that's not complicated? I'm not the greatest with technology...

By the way, the there really brought home the value of human life in a very tangible way, so that the recent threads about abortions became even more poignant.

We really are in a struggle against a society that increasingly views life as valuable only if there is a profit to be gained from it, which makes the sick, dying, disabled, or unborn children expendable. We need to work against this together.

By the way, there are some very real needs at the orphanage, and I'd really like to help expand our Church's involvement there with the kids. If anyone is interested, I'd love to visit people's parishes to make a presentation or something to help raise money to help the kids.

Besides prayers, the two biggest needs right now are:

1) Specialized food for some of the kids. There are 15 kids at the orphanage who are being fed enough, but whose bodies aren't strong enough to process normal food. They need special food for about 6-12 months in order to grow and get strong. Without it, they are basically starving to death, no matter how much they eat.

2) Surgeries and therapies. Very inexpensive by American standards, but they will, God willing, help these kids by able to grow and learn how to walk.

I know everyone is busy and cash-strapped, but I'd really like to see us make this happen. These kids are our brothers and sisters in Christ and commune from the same chalice we do. In fact, getting to help out while they communed was a wonderful pleasure Love does not allow us to forget them.
