  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

WELCOME BACK!!!!
Hahha, when I got up to immigration the guy was like: Oh Hello again! I've probably seen him 4 or 5 times and I guess it just shows that I travel too much LOL. And I did cause some issues because my passport is on my old name still and I'm in the system under my new name so he had to go in and give the all clear.
Before when I had a student visa I would always have to go for second screening it was when Air Ghana still flew into Baltimore... umm, not so fun! And there was never an issue, just procedure.
I also asked the customs guy about the alcohol limits and lo and behold... they had no idea how it works. We pay them why???

lol, the alcohol comment reminds me of a trip to Germany I took while in HS. It was through the school as an optional extension of the German Classes. Well we stayed for three weeks with a German host family and this one girl one the trip was given a bottle of wine by her host family to give to her parents. Well they give us the customs form and most of us just check the "nothing to declare" since none of us were really bringing that much back. Well, she decided to actually fill the silly form out and include the bottle of wine on it. The customs agent saw the wine on the list, it was blatantly obvious she was not 21 yet. He starts going in on her about how she was not allowed alcohol, asked her if she even knew US alcohol laws (I would hope so since she was a US citizen). It only ended when our teacher/chaperone intervened, explained the situation, and all that. She should have just never mentioned the silly thing.
