Congratulations on your salvation! I know how hard it can be coming away from wiccan, because i was Pagan once too! Erm.. baptist is just another denomination of christianity. they're a bit like pentecostal christians, so the services can be very lively lol!

What a great testimony! Please find a local church to join with so that they can help you grow in faith! Here's the statement of faith for Southern Baptists. There are many different kinds of baptists, but the core doctrines represented at this site (about salvation, Lord's Supper, Baptism, etc.)are pretty standard among Baptists: http://www.sbc.net/bfm/

You'll want to be baptized soon to symbolize the work Christ has done in your life and make your new commitment public.

Congratulations!

I think you'll find a wide variety of worship styles in Baptist churches... I would rate Baptist churches that I've been to on the opposite end of the scale from Pentecostal churches. We tend to be more conservative, save for the regular "Amen!" in the right places :)

It's awesome to hear about someone receiving their salvation... You definitely have your life on the right track. I have definitely strayed during my life. The past several years I've been very separated from Christ, and I'm so happy to be back in the fold. I think that faith is what should guide all of our lives in all that we do.

God bless! Welcome!

as I told u earlier when u were visiting my church GDX the Baptists maily use KJV, though some choose not to
I dunno. I've never gone to a KJV church, and I've always been baptist. There are particular sub-sets of the Baptist denomination that are KJV only, but I wouldn't say it's most baptists. If that's something you want to explore though, there's a thread about it where you can get lots of good information.

thank you all, I just have a question, what6s premillenial? I know so far i'm not a Calvinist, please don't forse this on me, and i'm KJV only, i'm Fundamental, so whats premillenial
Don't let the categorizing and labeling of other people affect you.... The important thing is that you're a CHRISTIAN and a Child of God. What version of the bible you read or whether you subscribe to all the beliefs of Calvin, etc, is irrelevant! One of the fundamental beliefs of Baptists is independent thought... Read the Bible, discuss with your pastor, pray, and listen to what the Holy Spirit has to say to you about things.

Welcome! You have many years to develop your faith. You might be best avoiding some of the debates in forums like this.... and concentrate on worship and positive messages at your church.

God Bless,

-James

One thing we all agree on is that Jesus Christ is the one true way to salvation into Heaven. you have made a great decision. I love being a Christian and couldnt ever imagine not being near God and his everlasting grace.

sometimes when I feel very close to him, I get overwhelmed with emtion because he allows me to feel just a drop of his awesome love....

If you are being honest and not pulling our leg then I hope you enjoy all that God has to provide to you.

I've never been to a "KJV-only" Baptist church. Most of the ones I go to now use NIV primarily and some NASB. KJV is rarely used.

-James
KJV is used in independent baptist churches southern baptist churches use the NIV.
