hi
i've got a bit of a problem, and i'd prefer advice from an adult, rather then my own age group.
anyway, there's this rumor going around at my school, that i'm becoming a goth. i know, rumors are rumors, who cares... that's normally what i would say.
but now everyone thinks that i'm satanic! some of the kids in my class put water in their hands and through it at me saying "holy water, holy water."
at first, when they were just talking, i didn't care. but when the simple rumor grew to punishment for something that isnt true, i couldnt stand it. it's like every day someone comes up to me and splashes water on me, or holds up a little cross in me face.
here's where i need the advice. should i just ignore them and let them think what they want to think? or should i make them understand that these rumors aren't true? if u have another suggestion plz mention it too.
please help me out. ...and thank you for reading this, i appretiate it.

 delfinna, one thing I can remember from my early teen years is that we didn't have a whole lot of consideration for others feelings. It seemed like a good idea at the time to find something or someone who perhaps dressed differently, or acted differently from the crowd and pick on them about it. Although it wasn't at all nice to do. I'm sure you have seen this before and it sounds like you may be experiencing it right now.

My advice would be to talk to those friends who will listen (without judging you) and talk to them about how this is making you feel. A lot of times if someone will stand with you and speak out against this behavior it may subside. If this doesn't help you could either wait for them to tire of it or you could talk to the principal or a teacher about it

I hope this may help you sweetheart.
:prayer: for you!
God bless!

Why do they think you are becoming goth? Are you dressing in the garb? Is it your friends that are doing these things to you?

One piece of advice my Mom gave me when I was your age or a little younger was be original. Make the trends, don't follow them. You are unique, there isn't another person just like you so why do the same thing everyone else does. You know what? I listened to her. I rarely if ever went along with what everyone else was doing or dressed the same way they did.

Don't know if this helped or not. If you need to talk more about it, you can pm me.

 God made you special sweetie, and unique from all others in the world.

i am curious, do you go to a church school, because the reactions you are getting don't sound like something that would happen that often at a public school.

I would advice you to ignore most of it, and strive to live a godly example. If you do that, I think they will see a difference in you. If you are dressing gothic or hanging out with goths you have to realize you will get hassled by others in your age group. Young people like to often pick on others before they get picked on themselves. I think it's all a self-image problem many young people have.

Again, live for God in your daily walk and you will do well. Find others who are strong Christians if you can and hang with them. I wouldn't run to the staff too quickly unless the bullies (that is what I will call them) get physical. I know lies are hurtful, but you know the Truth. Don't let them demoralize you. (I know, easier said than done).

We will be praying for you!
