Is a prostitute a criminal?

A lot of people will tell you that, on the contrary, a prostitute is a victim.

I think that to be in violation of the law is one thing while being a criminal is another. Sometimes the two coincide. Other times they do not.

What about people who broke the law in Nazi Germany and aided potential Holocaust victims? What about the Underground Railroad? What about Martin Luther King, Jr.? Those people broke the law. Did that make them "criminals"?

What about civil disobedience being not only okay morally but a moral imperative?

I think that the intentions of the law in question and the intentions of the person breaking that law determine whether or not one is a "criminal".

Do the laws that "illegal immigrants" are violating have good intentions?

Do the immigrants violating U.S. immigration law have bad intentions?
