I did recently purchase a new Bible (NIV Reformation Bible). It has the Westminster Catechism, Canons of Dort, and Westminster Confession of Faith in the back. I've been reading them - so maybe that counts.

Wow edb19, your dad sounds like a wonderful man. Is your husband anything like him?edb19 said:My dad - without question the greatest person I've ever met. While the church was not his vocation - he has always actively participated in his church. He loves the Lord and has a strong prayer life. Finally, and most importantly - he quietly goes about doing the Lord's work. He is constantly giving to others - either by active participation or by financial support. Very few people (myself included) know of all he's done for others - he never makes a big show of anything. Truly a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. When President Bush first spoke of "compassionate conservatives" many people laughed saying it was an oxymoron. I know better - I had the perfect example in my father.
