CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

IJWTS I am sad that it looks like quite a few people in Peru will be remaining homeless because of one stupid woman.

same type of thing is happening here in evansville. unpaid tax bills and miscommunication between owners that were selling led to the power being turned off a week and a half ago. now, 50+ people are staying at a hotel.. soon, they won't even be able to stay there.

IJWTS Sorry to hear. However, this situation is not the same. These people have no decent homes or anything to begin with, and the a good chunk of the funding that was going to go towards building them homes that could provide shelter has just been eliminated. A hotel room would be probably like a mansion to them.

I heard the song "Love Potion #9" earlier at work and wondered if THAT was slipped into some of the various desserts we had at last Friday's church ice scream social. I started laughing out loud (with nobody else in the room) and my boss came around the corner and gave me the WEIRDEST look! It was priceless....

yeah...last Friday. Was awesome! Our little church had a turnout of nearly 150...best ever!
The 'ladies aid' group had some mean pies too! yum yum!! ....and uh...now that I think about it...*S*'s dad served me the ice cream.....what did he slip me????

LOL That's the 'disturbing' part about it all. My latest post in the "Do you have a crush on anyone" thread describes a little bit about the situation.
I spent a LOT of the time sitting at a table with 'person of interest'. We actually chatted a decent conversation for the first time ever...I think. Sadly, it was about our frustrations looking for a job...but I digress. I've been acquainted with this person since late 2005/early 2006 and it's the most I've heard him speak...he's just THAT shy.

If you're interested, go for it. I know guys who seem shy and really aren't they just have "different" interests or sometimes I don't give them the time they need. I'm not talking hermits, here either. LOL. Mostly jokes, but sounds cool. I'll have to check your post.
