CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How exiting for you!!!
Thanks! There's really nothing specific to report/post praise/etc... at this point but I have to say that through all of the insanity of the last couple of months, God is showing me some things about myself that I need to change (things I didn't realize were necessarily problems). I'm not sad about it. I'm excited about it. I think it's just one more blessing that is coming from the job loss aka extra time on my hands. Just one more way to move in the right direction spiritually.

IJWTS I just signed put down a deposit for a new apartment today that will be a lot closer to my new job. It's a 2 bedroom instead of the 1 bedroom I am in now, but it is just as nice and the same price! It has a great pool AND its on a golf course where I get free green fees to play. Good times.

Thanks! There's really nothing specific to report/post praise/etc... at this point but I have to say that through all of the insanity of the last couple of months, God is showing me some things about myself that I need to change (things I didn't realize were necessarily problems). I'm not sad about it. I'm excited about it. I think it's just one more blessing that is coming from the job loss aka extra time on my hands. Just one more way to move in the right direction spiritually.

I passed by a street this evening that had one of those memorials set up in remembrance of someone who had passed away on that street. I didn't, for one second, think of whether or not that person was better than me in his/her life. I didn't, for one second, think of whether or not that person was worse than me in his/her life. I thought of how sad it was to have had his/her life taken in that exact same spot that I was driving along. I thought about their family and friends.. of their soul. 
I thought, also, of the painful reminder to be careful and to appreciate each breathing moment.

hang in there.IJWTS...Why is it when ladies who are known to be single bring a male friend somewhere everyone things the two are dating or at least interested in doing so? Honestly. It's terrible. A guyfriend of mine (who I haven't known long) is a seeker, and I invited him to my church today and to come to our church picnic. I got looks and comments all day, and one of the men in our church told him to "worship me". Blah. I'm not interested in him @ all romantically. I've given him a few rides home, just here and there, and we carpool sometimes to events we are both attending. But I'm only trying to be kind, and the guys never offer to do that for him. Should I do something about this? I try to be nice to everybody...do I have to stop for the purposes of not being misread?

I know what you mean! ..and no, I wouldn't stop being nice/helping/inviting male friends to church just for the sake of being misread. Hopefully a seed was planted today for your friend. You shouldn't have to explain yourself, especially since you're doing God's work and trying to lead someone to Christ.

that always happens especially in christian circles. Does your friend know your not interested?

IJWTS WalMart finally had ammo on the shelf that I needed. I was sooooo happy. Then they told they couldn't sell it to me because company policy will not allow them to do so after 10pm... because it is locked up. All of the ammo on the shelves not locked behind glass is fair game... Dumbest policy ever!

Had a decent day, but interesting. I was late to church, then my neighbor stood in front of my car so he could talk to me while I was already late. Then had a quick workout, then went to the Sounders game, had a few beers at the game, then played a game, then had a few beers.

IJWTS: I should have gone to bed about 2 1/2 hours ago! arrrgh!! Can't sleep...mind is wandering. I think it's stuck on this past Friday....what a cool time I had! Highlight of summer so far!
