So we ran to the local walk-in clinic and the nurse very gently and nicely (before Josh could ask what she was doing) popped it and drained it. But was that the end of it? Noooo. He's also got a poison-ivy-ish rash on his face and legs! So he's got a big bandage on his leg and we have a tube of Cortizone-10...
And we've got our trip tomorrow. Prayers, please!!Ha! ThanksI must say that my son is delightfully easy to care for, though.
I've had anxiety issues most of my life. It's hard to say what the thoughts are "about" because they're usually irrational and random. Sometimes the thought of being scared is what scares you; figure that one out! When I'm going anywhere far away from home, I think about things like, what if I have an asthma attack, what if I'm allergic to something that I'm around while I'm there, what if I don't feel well and I want to leave and I can't (there's being scared of being scared again), stuff like that. And I know, logically, the overwhelming likelihood is that I'll go and be fine and come home in one piece. That's what I hold onto and helps me remain able to venture far from home. I get angry at the thought that fear is going to steal my life from me, and the anger helps me fight back.
I get nervous like that, too. I just pack whatever I can to prevent any life-threatening events (I'm highly allergic to insect stings and have to be rushed to the ER if I get stung around the head or neck) and then pray like crazy. I'm sorry that it gets the better of you sometimes...praying that your fears will subside.

They thought it was an insect bite or sting of some kind, but couldn't really give a solid guess. Oh man it was the grossest thing I've seen in a long time, lol. It literally looked like someone had glued a green grape to his leg.
Thanks for the prayers!![]()
He used up the bandage the Dr put on, then I put on a big Band Aid and it went right through that, so I had to run out to the store at 9:30 at night and get some gauze. Gack. He also has this habit of sleeping with his favorite blanket over his head, and he can't do that with the rash, so I have to keep pulling the blanket off and he fights me in his sleep lol. IJWTS We're going to PA to visit an amusement park with some family that we almost never get to see.

I sure hope things are better in the morning.
She pushed it pretty hard, but it's like, this dark spot surrounded by a cluster of small blisters; even with the ginormous one popped I can still see the smaller ones and the black center is still there. I asked her what it was and she just shrugged. Big help! I don't think Josh would let me poke at it cause it's pretty painful.
IJWTR-Welcome to the cycle, or the recycling processIJWTS that it seems like in a situation where there has been a death recently, a baby will be near. Life picks up and moves on.
