IJWTS- Make the room stop spinning

Are you ok Red?

IJWTS I'm sad :( One of my good friends is going to Iraq.. for the 5th time. He just got back from his 4th tour in March, now he's going again in September. I feel so bad for his wife and 3 kids.

Awe that's sad. Did they give him a choice?

IJWTS nah, they don't usually give you much of a choice when it comes to that... and if they do give you a choice, it's basically, don't do what we tell you to do and destroy your career, or go and stay in good standing.

dB, is he part of the IRR? If so, he can probably get DD&E'd, especially because he has children. 6 months R&R seems incredibly short, even for how strained the Army and Marine Corps have both been in recent years. And do you know what unit he's with? (Or, I guess I should ask what branch he's in too) I've got a friend shipping out in September with the Marine Corps, chances are they could be in the same MEU or unit.

Praying for him, his family and you and his other friends.

IJWTS: One of my kitties got out yesterday while I was gone and I haven't seen her since. :(

I am so sorry to hear that, HC. :(

IAWTS: How many times this month are the Cubs going to go into extra innings??? grrrr!!! (and LOSE??!?!?!?!?!?!?!)

Until we pass away and the next generation firmly grasps the torch of suffering, carrying on our pathetic legacy. :p

Yeah...to think that my great-grandfather was 5 the last time they won the World Series. I grew up watching the games with him and my two cousins. So....I guess he passed the torch onto me. Thanks Gramps! LOL

IJWTS...my heart is happy, but parts of it ache. It aches for understanding, it yearns to be held close, and it wants to be in that place, the place it is free to beat. Does anyone know how this feels? As if everything's falling into place, but you wonder if the people in your life are willing to celebrate you as well as listen to your fears? Hmm.

IAWTS...I'm sorry, but I have to...I'm considering leaving. I haven't really gotten connected in here. I feel like such an outsider, like I'm missing this whole big thing. Am I? I like posting here. I like reading the threads. You also make me laugh and make me think. But I feel like an outsider to you. Sorry. That's how I feel.

IJWTS-If you really want to leave, I can understand, but what you feel is really normal/common. I think that most people feel like outsiders on forums, especially one like this where it seems (and is the case sometimes) like there are a bunch of cliques and off-forum friendships. I felt like that originally, too. Then, I started posting like mad and not caring if I fit in or not. It took awhile (at least several months) before I felt like I really fit in. You just have to constantly and consistently put yourself out there. It's like real life, the more you make yourself a part of the group by participating, the more you fit in. Also, people probably notice you more and you fit in more than you realize.
