IJWTS-I was lucky. My mom knew that I was too shy and nerdy to be having sex when I was a minor. Although, she did tell my sister and I once that if we got pregnant under 18, she would not allow us to get married--she was very firm that she didn't want us to get married out of some twisted sense of obligation.

I'm still that way!

When I was younger, mum stated her concern if I did have sex because of pregnancy, but as I got older and she saw more disturbing things in her job at the hospital, she again spoke to me about the dangers of STDs, especially AIDS. I think now I'm too paranoid even if I did decide to throw my morals out the door.

IJWTS: I'm so stoked about getting something I ordered in the mail today and that I *paid* with it with a gift card so it was basically free. whoo hoo!

IJWTS: One of my friends text me today and said she'd found a job....1 down, several more friends to go...Thanks God!

IJWTS that it is difficult to return to sleep when you have just heard the most beautiful voice upon this earth...

IJWTS I set my alarm for 7AM but I woke up at 10 til 6 and couldn't go back to sleep. So, I got up, did two loads of laundry, made some coffee, got the mancubs up and ready for Water day (yay!) at camp, took a shower while they ate breakfast, and now I'm sorting out work emails and goofing on CF b/c we still have 20 minutes before we leave the house.

IJWTS I never expected to see 9.4% unemployment during my lifetime...

It's about 13% where I live and it seems like the unemployed are me and most of my friends....what's up with that?? I know what you mean though. I was hoping the Depression was something that I would only know through history books.

Yeah, it makes me very thankful for the job I have now.

At the same time, it makes me feel good for being risk averse in my teens and early twenties and pursuing a high security but conservative pay career path. There were times in the last few years where I wanted to escape to the private sector and chase more money but opted against it because of the lack of job security.

yeah...you were smart there. I wasn't so bright. Unemployment has followed me everywhere but this is the first time it's actually caught up. The previous two full time jobs I held I was able to get out when I sensed big, unfavourable changes. This time, I was a bit slow and should have gotten out sooner but oh well....I have had this peace about it the whole time that I'm on the edge of something better which I hope means I am made aware of my 'true' calling and pursue that this time around instead of pursuing what sounded fun and/or easier to get to.

Well the good thing is that you're still young and so you have the option to pursue an entirely new career, one that is more challenging and may provide better job security.

Personally speaking, I am blissfully grateful that it has passed. It signifies that I am one month closer to fulfilling the sweetest dream of my existence.
