  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

IJWTS- After about a year and a half of living in denial, yesterday I finally gave in and went to the eye doctor. I've always had perfect vision, but in the last year and half or so, I've been having problems seeing things in the distance. At first, it wasn't that bad. But it's been getting progressively worse and law school has only aggravated the problem more. Now it's at the point where I can't read street signs well while driving and I can't read them at all at night (unless I'm literally like two feet from the sign), I can't read the words on the screen during worship at church (unless I'm in one of the very front rows), and I often can't even see what's written on the board from the front row in my classes. :(

So I went to the eye doctor yesterday. Turns out I do need a prescription. Luckily, I'm only having problems doing certain things, so I don't need to wear a prescription all the time, only at certain moments when I need to read things at a distance. I'm picking up my first ever pair of glasses today.

Aw, the same thing happened with me. :( Now I wear my glasses whenever I go somewhere. I felt the same way! I think that school is what caused it for me and studying too much. I'm sure you will look fine in them though. :)

Aw, I know how you're feeling. I was in denial for the longest time as well... especially in my teen years. But when it came time to drive I realized I had to give in. After getting them I realized it wasn't the end of the world. I still don't like the way I look with glasses so I wear contacts most of the time, but it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Only thing for me... each time I go to the doctor my eye sight is worse.

I am SURE glasses will suit you though.

Thanks, guys! When I was trying them on in the store though, I really didn't like the way they looked. I mean, I chose the best looking ones (in my opinion at least), but I still prefer my face with no glasses.

I'm just glad that I won't need to wear them most of the time! Glasses just don't really suit my face! ^_^

Welcome to the Corrective Lenses Wearer's Society! We'd call ourselves a club, but glasses make people looked sophisticated so we call it a society.

When I was a teen I was so upset because my sister got the glasses, freckles and braces. I had perfect vision up until my 20's. I was so proud the day I got told I needed glasses to drive at night ^_^

So what style did you pick?
