Toro i just think you have a hatred bias towards Manning because of all the years he torched your team...not just once but twice a year. Hey, I totally get it! Its irony that I, too, disliked.Manning because he always torched the Broncos. But i would still think of Manning as GOAT even if he never joinedthe Broncos purely on talent. His knowledge of the game and playing ability is unsurpassed...even by my hero John Elway. If its judged by the number of rings....then Marino has no right even being mentioned. I think its the opposite...Brady has been overrated. Look at the offense he has around him. That offense made Bradys backup look brilliant when he went down and when he left NE he couldnt do squat! so sometimes it is the coaching staff, the team around you, etc.
Manning on the other hand was doomed to fail at 36 and coming off a neck injury, but he is lighting it up! the man is not overrated by any means.
No, I don't, I wanted him to go to Tenn. so that we would CONTINUE to face him twice a season. I respect the man and what he can do but he is NOT a god as the media and his fans want you to believe.
The fact is GOAT is a matter of opinion which mine is not changing unless he shows me something to oppose the opinion I have of the man, YES he is great, but just because I don't agree with GOAT, does not mean it is due to a biased hatred. It is based on what I have seen.
Saying the only way I could disagree about him being GOAT is if I have a hatred towards him, thats as foolish as people telling me the only problem I could possibly have with Obama is skin color.
Here are a few of my reasons why.
1) He has been to the SB quite a few times and yet his ONLY successful trip was against Grossman, an incompetent QB with a DOMINANT D (that he only did anything against when they were completely gassed having a QB that couldn't sustain a drive to give them a rest) . You put a competent QB opposing Manning, he wouldn't even need to be Elite and Manning loses that SB as well.
2) His supporting cast not being good enough does NOT hold water IMO, if they are good enough to help you get there, they ARE good enough to help you WIN one (that isn't on the back of the opposing QB being incompetent)
Getting to a SB once and losing, is NOT a sign he cant be great, nor can never making it to one. THAT is a valid case for "supporting cast"
3) Great teams FIND ways to win in big games such as the SB. (Eli's Giants Vs the undefeated Pats for example) with what they have, whether their supporting cast is all 100% or not, why should it not hold true for the GOAT?
4) GOAT- Greatest of ALL time, past, present AND future. I can see someone coming in, in the future and being much better than Manning, that part of it is semantics.
but something that isn't semantics, there are other QBs that I fear facing MORE than Manning. (That doesn't mean I take the man lightly, I respect the mans abilities and he CAN certainly hurt you, but there are QBs I worry about more than him)
I am far more concerned while facing the likes of Brady or Rogers than PM. (the QBs not the teams, because team wise I think the Broncos as a team would give us a tougher fight than the others in the playoffs, but I still fear a Brady or Rogers more than PM)
I could keep going and supporting WHY I don't see him as GOAT but as I said it is all based on opinion anyway, I wont change your mind, you wont change mine.
He has an overwhelming record over us, TRUE, but we were horrible every year we faced him for him to gain that record.
Do I hate what he did to my team being a diehard fan of the Texans since inception? Yes.
do I hate the man or disrespect the player for it? No, but again, I know he CAN be beat by competent teams, it is NOT a cake walk, but it is achievable.
As I said, the only team that TRULY concerns me in the post season are the Broncos, that doesn't mean I believe your Broncos are the better team (Manning vs Schaub, yes Manning is the better QB, no question), but I feel that would be the closest match all out for the teams, but I know that PM and your Broncos ARE stoppable whether you want to admit it or not.
Lets not forget the close ties between the Texans and The Broncos with Kubiak etc.
The Patriots slaughtered us, BUT I have a feeling (maybe it is a team love biased hope) that the game plan in that game was to sandbag it, (Risking 10-2 at the time, not the end of the world, and you know you will likely face the same team in a couple weeks when it REALLY counts, why sho them anything serious?) cause that game seemed VERY vanilla EVEN for Kubiak. Even if not the plan, as I stated, the Jets got murdered by the Pats in the regular season and beat them in the playoffs a few seasons ago, so getting embarrassed doesn't mean your playoffs are doomed.
I felt it last season and still do, we can beat the Pats in Post season and being a life long Houston football fan (first the torture that were the oilers and then the Texans building), I am not quick to jump to optimism.
So because the man had a surgery, healed and went back to "work" he is not over rated? well by that logic that means that I am immortal, I get injured, I heal and I keep going.
Coming back after surgery is not easy, BUT what was he going to do? allow his neck to not heal properly and let it just dangle there for the rest of his life? The man did what any human being would do, he worked at getting better, he got "lucky" he could return to his old self, that has absolutely nothing to do with his "rated"ness. Now if he had a rep of being fragile and weak, YES it would be a valid argument. But this is skill level, not his toughness.
I do understand his seat at the table when it comes to the discussion of GOAT, no one says the man ISN'T great, but I just cant add "est of all time" to that. Doesn't mean I have a biased hatred for the man or think he is horrible. I just don't see him as being the GOAT. Its opinion and nothing more, much like to me the sexiest car of all time is the 69 Charger.
Others may like the car but disagree, doesn't mean they hate the car that is the top of my list, just means it isn't at the top of theirs.
A biased hatred would be if say (God forbid

) the Titans were ever good, undeniably good and saying they are still a crud team. (Which, they are and always will be

)
