  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When I go to the dentist, I usually have to grin and bear it, cuz the Novocain wears off so fast. You have that problem too?
IJWTS - I had to have a root canal done once without any novocain or anesthesia at all  I could only handle 2 hours at a time and had to go back for 3 visits for about a total of 6 hours in the dentist chair....it was seriously hell and now when I go to the dentist I have horrible anxiety attacks and will start crying in the chair before the poor man even steps in the room :|

I've never had any work done on my teeth - thankfully - so I don't know. It'll be interesting to find out...

IJWTS - That's crazy! I'd make them put me under for something like that. I can handle the pain, but why would I want to?
IJWTS - Well, the specialist in the area that could put me under was unavailable for 3 weeks and I was in pretty horrible pain already. The tooth went bad REALLY fast. Anyways, I was sent to another specialist who was supposed to be able to do great things without actually putting me to sleep. When he tried to deaden the nerves they were to "hot" and he could never get it to numb up. I'm sure there was some effect from the meds but very, very, very little. I'm sure I gave the poor dental assistant nightmares cause I would sit there with tears streaming down my face the entire time the dentist was working on me just holding onto her hand for dear life. We'd have to take breaks about every 30 minutes or so cause that's about as long as I could take the pain before I need a break from it.

Anyways, it was a total nightmare and something I will NEVER repeat again. If I have to ever have another root canal I'll be finding a specialist that is available no matter where he is located and I'll be going to him cause I'm getting put under next time.

IJWTS I can't believe Mel Gibson was married for over 28 years... not too common in Hollywood.

IAWTS that I finally gave in and started watching Heroes a little over a week ago and I am hooked. I feel stupid for not watching it all along. It's right up my alley :p

IJWTS- I'm surprised she didn't divorce him sooner.

IAJWTS-Heroes is my 2nd favorite show (Lost is #1). If you haven't seen the first season, you definitely should. The first season was fantastic, although I do really like the current season too (the 2nd one was a waste of airspace--bad planning due to the writer's strike).

Also, I am on a bread and water fast. This should be interesting. I wonder how much weight I will lose in a week.

IJWTS - I am doing the slimquick cleanse this week! :) I am hoping for 8-10 lbs.... wanna make it a competition?

IJWTS yeah! I'm halfway through the first season and I'm having cravings. I wanted to take off work today to watch it all :p Everyone I know who watches Heroes says the same thing. First season good, second season sucked, third season good.

8-10 lbs in one week? No thanks haha. I'm hoping for maybe um 5? The purpose of the fast is not to lose weight though. If I wanted to, I'd beat you easy anyway :p

IJWTS - I doubt it :p Every time I do a cleanse I lose a ton of weight, last time I did a berry smoothy cleanse, it was probably the best fast/cleanse I ever did, you get to drink fruit smoothies all day. Your supposed to only do it for a day or two... but I got addicted and did it for a week. :) Lost about 10 lbs.

IJWTS - I'm sitting on my butt, and will be for another few hours.

I wish I could jog though, but it's been the same thing for the last few weeks. Play soccer, twink my calf muscle (regardless of how good I warm up and stretch), rest it so I can play again, play, and repeat. It feels like it's fine, but then towards the end, it just tightens up. Maybe I'd make it if I put less pressure on it by losing weight.

IJWTS - I've never done one of the diet "cleanse", but had to do one for medical reasons, and I didn't lose a pound, and it's not like I don't have a few extra pounds I could lose. I bet the berry smoothy was better then the barium I had.

IJWTS - yeah barium is gross, I always felt bad when I had to give that to patients to take :) The berry smoothie is definantly better :)
