  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

IJWTS that I have officially run out of room in my bookshelves. I need to make more shelves very, very soon; lining the top of my wall along the perimetre of my bedroom looks like the best option.

Oh I know how you feel. I'd love to own my own place just so I can purpose build bookshelves with room to grow.

It's just absurd. I have three bookshelves in my room, and all of them are full.

Having a designated library in your home is a beautiful thing. I have one of those, and I also have these bookshelves in my room whose depths are overflowing for want of space with generous supplies of books.

Between me and my ex we have 2 10x10 storage units full of books. We haven't even bothered bringing them out because we went digital, my phone has about 1300 books on it and I have the full (as of about 2005) Project Guttenberg library on dvd if I need more.

Now I just need to get myself back into reading, haven't since Hunger Games trilogy back in November.

Great stuff! Which eras and genres do you collect?

My collection is comprised of titles from the early 1900s and earlier; I am sort of prejudiced against books written in the twentieth-century and later. :p

I have around 1500 books on my Nook too—mostly Barnes & Noble Classics (excellent supplementary material) and Project Gutenberg epubs.

Her's tend to be true crime, or anne rice or kushiel's series type stuff, with some lurelene mc daniel.

Mine are almost entirely sci fi and fantasy stuff. I'm a geek, though I do like the classics sometimes, especially Dumas Though I never got through all three of Ten years Later, so long and boring, the first two though are epic.
