If most of your text buddies have email you could send more emails instead.
There's also some sites which allow you to send text messages but most also send an advert and make it difficult for people to reply back to you easily.

What can I now say is statistically significant? Beach proximity. Get closer to the beach, diversity drops off, which isn't a shock considering we're dealing with a coastal forest fragment and many of the observations were of forest obligates who prefer central forest locations to outskirts.
