CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When I am on a bus in 30C heat with little ventilation and you sit next to me, the only reason I am staring at you is because I'm contemplating ways to make it look like an accident when I throw you off the bus at the next stop. Seriously!IAJWTS- What do gypsy wedding's have to do with Adolescent Psychology? Abso-freakin-lutely nothing! Why must we talk about them in class then? Hmm? C'mon prof. Step up your game, it's the first week. Such shenanigans are only acceptable after midterms.

I just found out that a coworker has some sort of autoimmune disease. She was already evacuated back to the US a couple of weeks ago and now I guess she won't be returning. She'll find out the details on Monday but it sounds like she'll be living a much more limited lifestyle than she had planned.
We talked a lot about future plans to work for the UN, NGOs, or other international organizations. Those talks opened my eyes to a whole world of possibilities that I didn't know existed. As a result I am looking at opportunities that I would never have imagined just a short time ago.
She will likely be separated from the Foreign Service for medical reasons. That sucks because she is a good FSO but she is smart and I know she'll land on her feet back in the States. She told me about a month ago that her former employer wants her to come back to work for them and I can understand why. She is sharp and is the type of employee that every company wants.
I'm not asking for prayers because she is an atheist and would probably not want them but she is a good person and it sucks that something like this happened to her especially at such a young age (33).
I know she won't read this but IJWTS thanks for all you have done for me, Rebecca, and good luck in your future endeavors.

IJWTA?: Does anyone else love hymns? I prefer a lot of them over alot modern Christian worship songs. I even have a list on my computer of my favorite ones (with the lyrics).

Same here. Hymns to me are so much better, than most modern worship songs. My current church only uses hymns, I prefer to keep it that way.

Oh I love hymns! Singing them together in a group sounds so beautiful it has often brought me to tears *shh*.
Sadly my church doesn't sing any hymns anymore and has moved completely to the modern worship songs. They're really moving as well, and I love them, but something is definitely missing.

i love hymns. There are some really powerful modern worship songs out there, doctrinally sound too, but nothing quite compares to the beauty and power of a hymn.

IJWTS - people are funny. My manager, who for all intents and purposes is my actual manager even though I also have dept. manager (Walmart is weird), is a very serious no-nonsense kind of guy to the point of being somewhat intimidating. My dept. manager is even a little afraid of him I think, but he's actually really nice and just totally helped me out of a jam
