  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I do this all the time. 45 minutes after signing in my basket usually says "your bank account would like to kill you now, live on the edge, go to checkout"

Ah, yes. Who would have thought things could be so expensive? It's horrible when you really have to prune out items, adding them to a wishlist then spamming people with said wishlist eases the pain.

It's 15:13, time to run in the wind and rain.

I said this last year, and i'm going to say it again.

I had no idea there were so many Bibles dedicated to specific genders, much less ones which had pretty pink pages all decorated with roses and lace pointing out issues related to singleness/pregnancy/death/marriage/how to avoid being a ball crushing battle axe. I mean, I knew the pink ones existed, but I thought they were just ... pink. Not, full of specific advice for the ladies. World, you amaze me. Even if you amazed me with exactly the same thing last year you continue to amaze me.

I may have to get a Bible for the ladies, i'm intrigued.

Yes. I edited this. Because I can.

I read a short devotional type email from Dr James MacDonald (who I LOVE to listen to - he's quite amazing) speaking to beware of all the different 'versions' of the Bible now coming out. I should try and find it and share it. It was really something to think about.

IWJTS - Cur, your post is making me ponder and well it eventually led me to me thinking about this...it's rather sick how many like, variations, of the Bible are out there.....like that one that's like a magazine...really? Let's make the Word of God look like something this world loves, because the Word of God isn't cool and attractive enough just as the Word of God.

ugh...yeah..makes me sick..

I think it has mostly to do with drawing people in. Getting them interested in the Bible first and then having them grow from there. Some people have a hard time reading something in "historical text". But hopefully as a person matures and grows with God so will their Bible preferences. I will agree though that some versions out there are a little bit too much.

IJWTS today I am hanging out with my best friend. ALL.DAY. She will be here in a couple of hours. We will go get pedicures (her treat) then get lunch (my treat) then back to her house where we will hang out and eat some more. Her husband is cooking ribs while we are doing our lady funtivites. It's about time a man knew his place was the kitchen :smirk:

IJWTS- Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (KJV)
3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3:3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
3:5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
3:6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
3:7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
3:8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
