CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well I came into work an HOUR late because my cell phone magically turned itself back an hour. So I walked in the door and all my co-workers asked me if I was going to start coming in at 9. I was like
So they told me it was actually 9am not 8am like my phone said. I didn't believe them, I thought they were kidding me
Thats the bad thing when you depend on only a single device for a clock.

IJWTS-I have been eagerly anticipating reading Tea Obreht's The Tiger's Wife and it has finally come in at the library! Time to pick it up and enjoy some reading time.

IJWTS that this place has changed me. One of the minor-ish ways is that I hear about things happening on the news in other parts of the country (or world even) and it often makes me think of a CFer or two.

IJWTS Do not confuse beer for tea...specifically while working. I'm glad I smelt it with my super smeller before hand.
IAJWTS I am far too blessed with good people in my life. Also, my friends are taking me out for my birthday tmrw night. They aren't telling me where. They are keeping it a surprise which is awesome because I LOVE surprises. They just told me to wear a little black dress. Exciting!

Shelly - that happens to me too, with a closed forum I belong to that started at the Sesame Street board when my kids were little, and about 15 of us grew really really close. I have friends all over the States, in Australia, in Phillipines, etc!
