  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, this was via email, so I couldn't kick him, but ... lol. Honestly, in a situation like this, I'm sure the guy is HOPING to get a shocked, horrified, offended reaction. Knowing that makes me want to either laugh in his face or punch him for being stupid. But I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of going into "hysterical chick" mode.

And thanks :) I think it has a sort of "serial killer" look to it... and I'm in a wonky mood today.

I couldn't even fathom making such a statement, whether in an email or in person. I wouldn't want to be like that guy to begin with. I prefer to be a gentleman, well at least try to be.

IJWTS I just came back from a successfully sweaty walk where a flower was picked just for me by little A. And then little A found out that im coming to work on my bday her response was "You're going to spend your birthday with me?? *insert doe eyes*:bigeye: oh thank you for spending your birthday with me!" Four year olds can be so sweet when they want to be.
