I wanted to add my cousin to my "side" by the friends list, but since I have a lot of other cousins who I don't want to add to that and I know they are going to resent me for it, so I have to list him as a brother. Yeah, he is a brother to me, but that's not the point here.

Ladies, if you want a guy to approach you, make yourself approachable. One little smile is all it takes and a guy will feel more comfortable coming up to you to have small talk. If not at that moment, maybe soon thereafter. But only do that with guys you want to approach you.

The reason I say this is because tonight as I was at my bookstore, I wanted to say 'something' to this girl upon leaving. She's an employee btw and she seems pretty cool. So as I was leaving, I literally had to walk right by her to leave the building. She was straightening her books and I was waiting for her to just lift her head and notice me, I might have been more comfortable to then say a little something before I left, but she had her head down the whole time. I then felt awkward even trying to say something, didn't want to startle/distract her from her 'book straightening zone' she was in. Maybe she was not interested in me to approach, in which case she did the right thing. But I felt bad for leaving without even saying good-night to her.

Carring this over! I tend to smile at everyone...and depending on who it is and how comfortable I am will determine the kind of smile you get. I rarely give a cute strange boy my best smile because I am too busy reciting in my head 'Okay...be cool..be cool...he isn't staring at you anyway....don't trip, just be cool'...so while I am running that through my mind I sometimes forget to smile AND furthermore this is usually my interaction with a guy. :giggle: :get flustered: :giggle: :fidget with my hair: :try not to sweat too much: :wonder if he is noticing me sweat: :giggle: :smile shyly: :bat my eyelashes and giggle: and then naturally after he walks away because I am a crazy person




IJWTS when I logged in earlier I noticed I received anonymous blessings. I thought it was going to have a sweet message in it that made me all but it was only a reminder of the new forum. Not cool....

I SO LOVE THIS. And it's still true for so many people today. That's the tragic part.

IJWTS-I woke up this morning and made my tuna salad for me and my brother to eat for lunch today. Be in awe of my tuna preparing powers!

Guys making tuna salad = ADORABLE.

I think the more tragic part is that Christianity is directly responsible for this perpetuation.

It's definitely an issue in the church. But it's hardly restricted to Christianity (look at Muslim women, aren't even allowed to learn how to read in some places).

The issue is not other people, it is not that they cannot see how awesome you are or that they cannot appreciate a sparkling wit when they see it; the issue is that you have significant issues that ooze from your personality, your very aura. They suffocate everything you try to do because you take those issues and put them up as great big excuses, excuses that you feel others should have to break down.

Your issues, your interpretation of others. Not them. They don't care. They simply don't care.

Sorry, I was specifically talking about us in America: there's a lot of Christians who are like that, and a lot less Muslims (and much more of those are moderate than most Christians).
