IJWTS - My poor dad...he hears a loud noise outside, looks out, but doesn't see anything, so doesn't think much more of it. Ten minutes later, a neighbor comes over wondering if he actually saw that some punk hit his car and sped off

IJWTS - I watched 15mins of Castaway and now Im going to bed. lol Im so tired. Such a long day and my eyes are just soo dry. Today was a good day, wish everyday could have been this happy and great.

Nitpick: The name of the movie is Cast Away, not Castaway.

I hope your complete recovery is right around the corner. It is with great sadness that I tell you Reese has gone to pieces over your absence. I tried to comfort him, but he refuses. The children said to tell you that you owe them each $.40 in allowance.

All else is well on the homefront.

IJWTS-Considering that not too long ago I was working with letters that had been sent to and from Civil War soldiers, the exchange between you two (Sara and Chris) is just bizarre to me.

I would rather have lost both my legs than to hear of Reese's suffering, and I must tell you that I have suffered more reading your letter than I did last Friday when I lost my other leg to a cleverly disguised bear trap. Tell the children their father will be sure to send them the overdue allowance once my stumps have healed and I find out whether the Colonel will be able to find me that new fangled saddle from Germany to strap me to so that I may continue my duties. I thank you, Martha, for the great sacrifice you have undergone for the family and request that upon receiving my legs you allow them the Presbyterian funeral I have always desired for each of my limbs.

George Jr has pledged himself to be married to the neighbors daughter. They see one another twice a week. I have forbidden the marriage to occur before your safe return.
