CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't see how the Skype thread is drawing people away. Skype itself may be but even the CF profile allows you share your Skype info.
I don't care if they close down the Skype thread. We are all already on each other's contact lists. And I've been PMing new members about joining us in Skype. It's been a wonderful way to get to know each other on a new level that I've never experienced by just posting on the forum.
It's been a major blessing.

Skype is an IM program not a website. Its no different than a few years ago when all the CFers were meeting for group chats on MSN and site traffic didn't suffer then.
Likely traffic is down because CF has been slowly dying for a long time and people have already gone elsewhere

Six hours trying to measure vegetation composition with the most infuriatingly "not bothered" individual is not very productive. You cannot do the work with one person, it needs two to actively work and do it properly. You have to get down onto the ground and touch stuff, no good standing up and guessing.

IJWTS~ Trying to figure out tax stuff has gotten me a bit jittered today. I live in one state, but only did work in a different state, and am not sure if I even have my W-2 sent from it or not yet. And I'm supposed to have my taxes done by next Monday to make sure my FAFSA stuff is covered. Good thing I got God on my side.

IJWTS-I went out to the Christian bookstore to finish up my Secret Cupid shopping and rescued three interesting books from the bargain bin. So my Cupid stuff is now completed, but I'm not feeling good right now. I hope its just the big ice blast coming back for round 2 that's making me feel blah.
