In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sry to hear that. I had a cop's business card on my apartment door last night; thankfully, it appears I'm getting it all cleared up this morning.

IAJWTS~ Update on my situation: I may have gotten my cell phone issue stuff figured out. I called the Alltel store I got my phone from and the first guy I talked to said I would have to drive the hour up to the store and bring my photo ID because there was nothing he could do. I wasn't wanting to do that, so I went into my online account and accessed the option to change which phone my number was going to, and changed it back to my phone from the other random guy's phone. I then tested it by calling Alltel and telling a new Alltel worker at the store what I did, and he said he would fix my account and apologised for what went down. I checked, and it appears my account is basically back to normal. Apparently the random guy called in to the phone hotline/customer service and there was a mix-up and he was given my phone number. I added a call-in password so now he shouldn't be able to do that. And I actually just got a call from either the random guy, or a male friend of his, and talked to him and explained the situation and gave him my alltel store's number, so hopefully he can get his money back for what he paid for.

And if I'm lucky, I just got a free month of service, but I won't know until later on. That would be sweet though. I'm glad this is basically over.

Thanks! The midwest and northeast got it the worst (2+ feet of snow). We got ice and freezing rain, but nothing tragic here. Die, winter, die!


IJWTS I'm almost ready to buy our train tickets to Washington! SO excited. I asked Josh this morning if he'd like to take a train ride (haven't told him about the trip, gonna surprise him), and he said, "I don't know..." I asked him why he was hesitant, and he said he didn't want the train to flip over. I said it's not going to flip over. And he said "Well, you know, if all the people move over to one side, it'll flip over." He's got all these old stream train magazines with pictures of horrific derailments and such, and I guess that's what he thought caused it all LOL. I cracked up!! And then set him straight lol.

The place I most want to visit when we get there: Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History NMNH

I'd also really like to visit this, but I'll have to think about it, knowing it might be hard for me emotionally, and Josh too: United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

If you tell them that you are a govenment employee you won't have to wait to get into the main exhibition hall at the Holocaust Memorial. Otherwise it could be as long as an hour before they let you in.

I know that they give people timed tickets, and I'm OK with that. I am a state gov't employee, but I don't think that counts, lol.
