  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

IJWTS I just found out that the guy who voices my beloved Jake (Adventure Time) also has done voices for just about every current animated series around, incluuuuuding Futurama (nudge nudge Austin!) and another of my favorite characters, Shnitzel from the show Chowder! Dude's name is John DiMaggio. Rock on, John!

Show some love for the Jakester!

But he could've killed me!!
Was it a St. Andrew's Cross spider? If so, then it is low risk and non-aggressive. Very, very few spiders actually can kill humans.

I would have caught it, studied it, then let it go. No need for killing. :(

IJWTS something like this just crawled across my desk.

So I squished him!

I would have squished him too. Spiders should know their role- to be outside. And I don't want to take a chance with a potentially venomous spider.

If it looked like the darling little beauty posted then the risk would not of been great
FREE Australian Spiders Identification Chart

Plus generally they don't go out of their way to bite someone, if noticed they can be safely removed and if not then you wouldn't of had the chance to squish it in the first place. Plus they catch flies, and spin lovely webs, and are beautiful beautiful creatures from God.

[/end spider soapbox]
I really like spiders. In fact I have a few living in my room, both free range natives and captive tarantulas of doom. They're fluffy, and cute, and oh so fascinating

FWIW I love that Whibbie loves her critters so much, I think it's beautiful! And I actually despise killing anything, even a fly. I catch and release anything that can't bite or sting me. And spiders have a habit of ducking under a rug or behind a dresser and then reappearing on the wall right above your head a week later. That's the creepy factor. They don't find a way out. They stalk you.

IJWTS - is it weird that when my cat is obviously horribly exhausted I still have to take her to a room closed off from the rest of the house so she can sleep without any distractions and I have to sit with her until she falls asleep or she just won't sleep at all?

yeah. thats what i thought. :sorry:

IJWTS-I think I finally might have come up with a name for my fictional band. Truly, the music (and literary) gods have shined on me. :D

Share with the class...or just my rep box. :D
