CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

IJWTS I had to reformat my hd and install Windows Vista and now I'm having problems connecting to my wireless network with Vista so I can only post here from work

IJWTS I had to go to the website for my wireless router and follow the instructions for Vista users to get it to work on my laptop at home. I had to plug in to the router and my laptop with an ethernet cable - so make sure you have an extra one. (I borrowed one from work)

IJWTS WOW!!! DC is going to be a fortress next week! Over 12,500 troops will be patrolling and "The US military will fly air patrols, man surface-to-air weapons systems, ply the Potomac River with gunboats, assess chemical and biological threats, organize large-scale medical support in the event of an attack, and provide visible and undercover on-the-ground security."
That's insane! And that's not even counting the thousands of police officers that will be in the area.
Apparently, Obama has received more threats than any other President in history. Oh, and here's a bit of trivia that I learned today: 4 Presidents have been assassinated while serving... Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and Kennedy.
