IJWTA WHY!?!?!?

That is the reaction I would have had if someone had said that they were interested in Pittsburgh a few years ago, too.

I might know the forum you're talking about, Historia - not sure if I'm allowed to post other forums' links, though. What's appealing to you about Pittsburgh? (I've never had the chance to see much of it beyond the bus station)

IJWTS-Pittsburgh has most of the things that are important to me in a city. I need public transportation (they seem to have a decent bus system), good museums, a decent library, interesting architecture (I love some of the historic architecture that I've seen in photos of Pittsburgh), shopping options (they have a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Lush stores; which I can't get where I currently live) and vegan/vegetarian friendly restaurants, the weather seems decent enough, and the cost of living seems reasonable.

A bonus is that
there are two Amtrak routes that go through Pittsburgh (one to NYC and one to DC) from Chicago. That is nice for vacations and to visit home (I could take the Amtrak as far as Milwaukee 'til they add the additional routes they are discussing). And I like that there are major universities there, which I'm sure offer some things for community members like my university does (although I don't go to a major university).

IJWTS-Pittsburgh is starting to look like a city I may want to move to. It's starting to sound like a lot better of a city than I had previously imagined (thanks to a city forum I joined a few months ago).

I just wanted to say NO YOU DON'T!

I lived in Pittsburgh.
I went to college in Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh= :sick:

It smells.
People are arrogant.
I actually fit right in, and I didn't like it.
...
Well, aside from the smelling bad part. :D

IJWTS - Have you ever sat down in the forest thinking about how each and every tree, needle, bird, insect, and molecule of air is from God?

And then the wind rolls through, animating everything around you in a veritable symphony of light and color. :)

IJWTS no I haven't - but I have done that with the surroundings on the beach. :)
