CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

IJWTS - Because of the bad roads, my boss was way late to work....which means I didn't leave on time..which means I couldn't make it to my class..which means that the first exam I've ever gotten lower than a B on in my life is a flat 0....

IJWTS that interview was TOUGH! I'm certainly still well in the running for this job, and she will let me know if I'm getting a second interview by monday so at least I won't have to wait long, but this seems like it'll be a very difficult job and it'll really require me to be on the ball. I have to submit a writing sample today though so I've gotta get on that before youth group tonight...

What's really hard for me right now is they want me to write a sample promotional letter, and since I don't have one already written about something, they want me to write one about an event at church.
So how do I write a good promotion, with my only reference being an already good promotion (since that's the only way for me to look at the events haha). I want to keep it simple and straight like they have it, but without plagiarizing, hmm...

That sounds difficult. They should have asked you to write a promotion for an imaginary event! Is there any way you could make it more original/fun?

IJWTA given the extreme weather circumstances, have you considered explaining what happened to your teacher and asking her to let you take a make-up exam?

Well, i've thought about that - and I'm going to explain to her what happened - mostly because I feel bad about missing it..Who does that?!
But I doubt she will let me take it up. It's a policy to need a medical note to make up. Plus, she drops the lowest score. I have a feeling when I explain it to her, she'll just say "That's fine, you still have the other three to make up for it."
Plus, it wasn't terrible exactly here (though it wasn't good either) - it was just that my manager lives an hour away, and it was bad for most of his trip here - so that's what put me behind.
Aw...I wouldn't say they didn't work, maybe God just answered them differently than you were thinking. I appreciate the prayers either way
Although - thinking about it, I'm chuckling..because my mentor and I have been talking about the fact that I am SO wrapped up in my grades - and she actually told me I need to flunk something

IJWTS - I'm procrastinating. I've got a domestic job that I want done that is going to cost quite a few thousand dollars and one contractor whom I've had quote it is being very persistant about getting that job. It's in an area I know little about and am unsure of whether I should come up with a legally binding contract as to ensure it gets done properly and per quoted price. I also need to get more quotes.
